A look inside PAN exhibitor Mandarin Mansion ⚔️

We visited Peter Dekker of gallery @mandarinmansion , whose passion for antique Chinese arms grew into a specialism spanning China, the Himalayas, India and Southeast Asia. Founded in 2005, Mandarin Mansion explores the craftsmanship, history and cultural connections behind antique arms and armour.

Step inside his beautiful Haarlem gallery with us for a sneak peek of what he’ll bring to the fair. Curious to discover the stories behind these pieces? Meet Peter at PAN Amsterdam, 1–8 November at RAI Amsterdam.

Bàojiàn (Bulging Head/Blunt) Whistle Head.

Whistle arrow made a day before the rove, flew and sang very nicely ❤️🏹🎶

These arrows heads had many uses, but from them is the shè hǔ bàojiàn (射虎骲箭), used to shoot tigers to get them to stand up, which made me chuckle 🐯

(Probably not historically accurate representation, but an authentic Bàojiàn is seen in the last 2 slides)

One month to go until PAN Amsterdam 2026!

In exactly one month, the doors of RAI Amsterdam open for the 39th edition of PAN Amsterdam.

From 1–8 November, +125 leading galleries, art dealers and antique dealers come together under one roof, bringing thousands of years of art history into the present — from Old Masters and antiquities to design, photography, jewellery, watches and contemporary art.

This year, expect familiar names, new faces, remarkable objects and plenty to discover. And with fashion and collectables taking a special place in this year’s programme, PAN once again shows just how broad the world of collecting can be.

The countdown is on. See you in November!
