Absolutely stoked to host another @mandate.democracy event with my brothers at @thetachi_alphakappa! This is a part of mandate democracies nationwide youth initiative, which seeks to educate, empower, and enforce the will of the next generation of American voters. It is beyond inspiring to watch the beginnings of a grassroots movement to make our government truly of the people, for the people, and by the people.

If you’d like to get on board and help, you can visit our page @mandate.democracy or donate to our GoFundMe https://gofund.me/14d07a1c!

Let’s get to work!

The Economist Intelligence Unit’s annual democracy index reports that the United States is a flawed democracy. We must institute voting reforms to make our politics less toxic, more productive, and actually helpful to the American people.

Rot does not heal. Rot absorbs and grows and then defines. This rot is generational, sets foundations, moves past precedents and defines history, defines the present. This Rot laughs at your good intentions, chooses to walk right around you goodwill. Rot does not excuse itself as you forge on.

There is no path forward without a radical fissure, radical education, alongside of a radical rebuke of Who We Are as Americans. These fissures must strike into the hearts and minds of every citizen, as the majority will rise if those indifferent to a universal, democratic bottom line, move from the center, out of the fringes, into reality. This is our reality. And this reality has historical roots and a purposeful campaign meant to blind and stamp out true origins, identities, and intentions. Our constant greed has led all of us to this cliff and we either jump off or surrender to discrimination, hate, bigotry, racism, nationalism, supremacy, and scariest of all a position of defiance, of apathy, in a refusal to fight for what is right.

Because this fight is larger than you are mostly aware of, the root bound together with so many individuals collectively defining their worth as superior. But this thread, this root is not cemented in stone, it can be picked apart one purposeful blow at a time. Democratic principles are only an ideal thought if we do not have accountability. We vote with our dollar, with our voice, and now I urge you to vote with an education rooted in conscious. A painful awareness, an acute sensitivity to those systematically stranded, left out, discriminated against, murdered and defiled.

Transcending good, transcending all the previous notions in their entirety, because what we have established as what we need to do is not enough. We must now demand.

Thomas Jefferson was a big supporter of education and the people creating the laws that the government governs.
Mandate Democracy encompasses those qualities. Mandate Democracy created a democratic system where citizens, not elected officials, vote directly on major national issues to decide what becomes law. To learn more visit https://mandatedemocracy.org/

50 DAYS OF DEMOCRACY: Today's quote comes from our seventh president, Andrew Jackson. He was known as the president of the "common man" - unless you were a person of color. However, under his presidency, American democracy flourished for white men of all socioeconomic classes. Jacksonian democracy is widely studied by historians and political scientists across the U.S.

At MD, we firmly believe that we need to drive representatives to actually "represent" the will of the people. Our initiative will revolutionize the way we interact with our elected officials and how we handle the voting process. Visit mandatedemocracy.org/the-initiative/ to learn more.

We live in an increasingly polarized society where the voice of some voters have less value than others or are even actively suppressed. The only way we can ensure every voice matters is by voting for elected officials and measures that will restore our democracy. Electing Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff will give Democrats a majority in the Senate and a chance to reform elections to better represent the will of the American people.
