The wind is a messenger for these sleepy trees, exchanging giggles and whispers between each rusting leaf. They welcome us into this season’s stillness. As days slow down and nature lets go, we too surrender to the sun’s extended slumber.

Nearing an annum of our boards and players, we assemble under tender candlelight to exhale the summer dizziness and bathe in newfound sounds. Live electronic performances, downtempo and all things dub techno for 9 hours.

burrowing in the heat
we fly to faraway green lands
on top of the marsh dragon’s home
eagerly playing to its quivering pulse

For the first time we sail out of old blighty, into the beautiful lands of Slovenia. We’ve been kindly welcomed to by the @kolektiv_divadlo , an incredible community art space. Situated on the hill of Ljubljana castle with a view overlooking the city. We cannot wait to play chess with the new puzzled faces in this whimsical space.

Our return to the beloved inn

Last time we were here there was a special energy, a lovely crowd of dubby grandmasters and humbledruids playing chess in this music sanctuary for the first time. After months of rumours and questions, we are ecstatic to announce our return with a chess club that morphs into a late night dance. After our last night here, Morey Cillar @moreycillar and R.E.D @sophieered_dj of @diskfrisk royalty blew us away with their mystical sounds. Deep downtempo obscurities, hypnotic rhythms and bellowing chords. We can’t wait to hear what they have to play to you on this long-awaited night..

Incredible tunes from our extra-terrestrial selectors @bunney_____ @docketteddy

This month we weave down the A6, beyond the viaduct to the majestic red stone kingdom of Stockport. For the land of hats and old mills proves rather appealing for an evening of driving bass and echoing chords. Gracefully supplied to us by none other than Synkro, straight out of SK1 Records. Joined by our ever loyal magician Ruf Dug, to embellish your chess playing with hypnotising Dub Techno sounds.

We hope you can join us in the warmth of the charming @red_bull_hillgate pub, as we embark on another journey to lands anew, to share cosmic chess with the world.

All wrapped in a big ol’ audio hug from @sixth_sound
