Meet the new owners—Hi everyone! We’re Kelly and Matt, the new owners of The Red Car Cabin. Our kids are Nate and Claire, and we have a 14 year old Pomeranian named Bart.

If you didn’t already know, Chris and Sarah sold the cabin to move East, and we’re the lucky new stewards of this magical trolley. The love, care, and attention to detail they poured into this cabin cannot be overstated. We are inheriting a true gem of a property thanks to them, and we are eternally grateful.

Our intention is to continue operating the cabin as an Airbnb because a place this special deserves to be shared—but it will always be our home away from home where our children will play, grow, and create incredible memories.

We plan to continue restoring PE 510, make the grounds even more family-friendly, and bring even more whimsy to the property. We hope you’ll come up the mountain to visit us sometime—and if you’ve stayed here before, we’d love to welcome you back to see what’s new!

Check out our submission to the 48 Hour Puppet Film Project put on by @handmadepuppetdreams @greenfeatherorg We had 48 hours to make this whole thing! We were given three prompts: Theme - Movement, Action - Nudge and Item - Wood. Due to our packed schedule, we actually did this all in less than 24 hours…it was a long night. We were honored to be selected as a runner up! Love the puppet community and seeing everyone’s submissions from around the world! We hope you enjoy! And congratulations to our friend @rikemind who took home 1st place!

MEET THE FILMMAKERS: Jeffrey D. Simon (@jeffreydsimon) is a filmmaker, songwriter, and co-founder of @thebarn a production company for indie movie musicals, and @thesilo.studio its slightly wilder sibling.

Right now, he’s developing his first feature-length musical, *West of Western*, a synth-pop Los Angeles queer love story he’s writing, directing, and composing. Previously, he created the queer western musical “Steam”, which took home “Best in Show” at the Savannah Film Festival now streams on Revry, alongside with his other musical short, “Spark.”

Before all that, he worked as an Art Director for film and TV. Highlights include *Filly Brown*, *Edge of Tomorrow*, *Venom*, and *Spider-Man: Homecoming*.

A. J. Freeman (@ajfreeman727) is a writer, teacher, director, and performer originally from Los Angeles and now based in New York. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild and Actors’ Equity. A. J. has worked for over 12 years in educational theater, directing dozens of full scale productions (favorites include *The Secret Garden, Into the Woods, The Pirates of Penzance, White Christmas,* and *The Boy Friend*), and running her own literacy-based musical theater nonprofit for underserved students.

Sam Balzac (@sambalzac) is an actor and musical theatre composer/lyricist originally hailing from the Adirondack Mountains in Upstate NY. He is a two-time NYSCA Support for Artists grant awardee for his original musicals The Wrong Box (Blu/Pen Residency) and Existential Questions of the 21st Century (O’Neill NMTC semi-finalist). He also serves as lyricist, at Dynasty Typewriter in LA..

Matthew Andrews (@mandrewsmakes) is a producer with a love for musicals, puppets, and all things delightfully over the top. He is the co-founder The Barn and The Silo alongside Jeffrey. At The Silo, he’s led campaigns for brands like McDonald’s, Nike, and Got2b, and produced the reality competition King of Drag. A lifelong theater kid turned filmmaker.

Throwback to a musical we shot in a train carriage, 10,000 feet above sea level, with a crew smaller than most train cabins. As we move into development on our first musical feature, it’s nice to look back at where it all began. Forever grateful to @cumbrestoltecscenicrr for letting us shoot on the railroad.

Steam! is about to celebrate its 5-year anniversary, and with it, the birthday of The Barn. This project marked the beginning of our journey, and for that, we are forever grateful.
