My parents immigrated to the US without any money and not knowing any English. But they worked hard, started many businesses, and even sent me and my brother to South Korea to be raised by our relatives due to our financial troubles — all to give us a better life.

Yesterday, I got one step closer to achieving the American Dream for my parents and myself. As a first-gen daughter of Korean immigrants, my success is attributed to the perseverance of my parents, the encouragement of my friends, and the support of my village. I’LL SEE Y’ALL AT THE BAR!! ⚖️🎉🍾🥂

With year 2 coming to an end, I officially received my white coat today 🤍

This moment marks the beginning of my clinical training in the hospital for year 3, and I’m so grateful for how far this journey has brought me.

Thank you to my family for your constant love and support, and to my friends who kept me going through every late night and stressful moment. I truly couldn’t have done this without you. And to my amazing fiancée, I am so grateful of all these experiences we have had together. Can’t wait for what’s to come when we head off to rotations

Excited, nervous, and ready for what’s next 🩺✨
