🍂Throwback Thursday…. A while ago Amy @amys.reading.journal tagged me to post a Throwback Thursday post, and I chose to share some camera crumbs from October 3 years ago. We were home visiting Long Island, and the week was filled with pumpkins, farm stands, journaling in historic graveyards, used book shopping at the Book Barn and Book Cottage, sunflowers, and all of the things that make October wonderful for me. To quote my favorite movie, “Don’t you just love New York in the fall?”🍁 Tagging a few people to post their own throwbacks, but an open tag to anyone who wants to play! 🍂

🗡️ THROWBACK THURSDAY

Here’s my journal spread from The Knight and the Moth last year. It was one of my faves in my reading journal. I wanted to post it before I posted my review/journal spread for The Knave and the Moon (that I finished this month). 🤭

🌿Reading journal reviews: Crown of Midnight (reread), by Sarah J. Maas, and The Tainted Cup, by Robert Jackson Bennett

⭐️Spoilers on pages, but not in caption

🌿Crown of Midnight: I loved this even more the second time through. Throne of Glass has become my life series, and this was a 5⭐️ on the reread for me. The betrayals hit harder, the losses hit harder, the friendships and bonds growing and strengthening had me cheering. It’s been so wonderful doing this reread.

🌿The Tainted Cup: This book was a bit of a journey for me. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I have to admit, I just did not like it for the first 2/3rds of the book. The world seemed very complicated, and not explained well up front- it was more of a get used to it as you go. There were a lot of characters, names, military and government people and positions, grafts and mods/enhancements done on people, places, etc., that had my head reeling a bit. And I just wasn’t connecting with the main characters. That said, I wound up really enjoying the last third, I haven’t stopped thinking about it since, and am considering reading book two, so, there’s that. 😂 (And it’s also one of the most beautiful books I own, so shout out to @mandyjournals for the gift- you are the best Mandy.) 🤍

I just knew when I saw this book it was going to be all the creepy, strange and spooky I need just by the cover ! Currently about 150 pages in with the girlies and I’m loving every page !! 100% recommended reading along with horror lofi on YouTube !

Safe to say this is going to be a new auto buy author for me !
