One of my compositions at Canal Rocks an iconic destination for locals and tourists alike, I believe this is my first time ever doing a timelapse down here and there’s just so many possibilities here. Since I was nursing a concussion and a broken rib I could only do so much. It was fun though and much better than heading home without even trying. I ended up staying down there for just over 5 hours, I plan on going back again for round two then I can capture more from the location.

I’m using the @rhinocg Arc II head + 42 inch steel slider + high speed motor. Filters all by Haida 2 & 3 stop plus a polariser.

Camera and slider powered from my @anker.anz 737 power bank.

Camera is the Fujifilm X-T3 + XF 8mm f/3.5 lens

The final footage has been sped up by 2x for social media, the final video that will get posted on YouTube will be at normal speed.

Some big swells coming it towards the end of my session yesterday at Canal Rocks after spending just over 5 hours there. In this spot when I setup the area was dry but once setup the waves started coming in hard and fast. I will certainly have to clean all my gear up after that as it got a ton of salt water and spray on it. Yesterday I was glad I have steel sliders that weight 6kg each, just means in windy conditions they aren’t likely to vibrate and move around.

Just over 14,000 photos captured overall, all recorded onto two @sandiskapac 512GB Extreme Pro SD cards. I was using both the Fujifilm XT3 and the XT4 only using Fuji glass as well.

Over the coming days I’ll share the results from this Timelapse. I’m also going to create a video for my YouTube channel of the location. I think I’ll go back down for the day in a couple of weeks time to capture more footage, I also have a new sound recording setup that’s a big upgrade from my current setup. I’d love to get some audio from this location.

On Thursday I visited Kevill Falls for a second attempt as the last time I was here not to long ago there was just a trickle here. This time it was much better, I wish I could have got closer but I was worried about getting my gear wet and slipping on the wet rocks. For each frame I went with a 1 second exposure using a 6 stop ND filter and a polariser to cut through the glare on the wet rocks.

Shot on the @fujifilmx_au X-T3 + XF 16-55mm f/2.8 lens.

This was taken a while back at Chambers Island, Maroochydore during a full moon. It took a few go's from different angles on the sand to get the moon positioned where i wanted.

“Can you do a quick edit by tomorrow “

Way too accurate ..

Not sure what is worse getting the gear out of the car or opening the door to get inside with said gear

It's been a while since I've been able to get to the beach so I went through my 20,000+ photos in my library and edited this previously unedited shot.
