Do you remember that my right hand went square due to some bad breaks? 👀 They were so bad, like little rectangle of nail popping up bad, twinging nail bed bad. Now, those breaks are still here, just... Patched to the best of my ability and hanging on until they grow out, I guess? Speakeasy Sparks by @mangolacquer was the first polish I picked out to put on my right hand, for a couple reasons: it felt like the right amount of witchy; and I had only worn it on two nails before, back in March. This polish was actually part of the same manicure from the very first picture on this account! Back when I tried it for the first time, I realized I had incorrectly interpreted the swatches and didn't expect the polish to be what it was - and I think I wore it in coats that were actually thinner than I might have liked. This time, with shorter nails, I was a bit more generous. I absolutely LOVE the twinkling blue sparkles in here and the gorgeous purple jelly base 🤩 The only thing I might change is possibly doing glitter grabber in addition to plumping top coat - I love a super glossy finish, and sometimes flakies interrupt that. it’s finally getting nice and cold and that perfect fall weather and i feel like this mani captures the vibe PERFECTLY of today and i love it. this most recent collection by @mangolacquer is the most perfect representation of fall, like the shade “Koyo” that LITERALLY looks like fallen leaves? its fall in a bottle you can tell me im wrong The Ochiba Anthology is inspired by the maker’s time in Japan and is an ode to the celebration of the fall season These are out now and they are very very November coded so I know i’m on a no buy but yall should def check it out when they’re website is back up!! 🍂🍁🍂 I tried out Mango Lacquer's Ochiba Anthology collection. The colors of the polishes encapsulate fall and the full autumnal feeling. Tsukimi: A black polish base with reflective glitter and a magnetic pigment that shifts between shades of bronze and gold. The contrast of the black with the magnetic particles and glitter really makes them stand out. Momiji: A deep burgundy polish base with a fine particle magnetic that shifts between shades of brown and subtle gold undertones. This one is a jelly magnetic type of polish Koyo: A clear polish with orange shifting flakes, orange and red metallic flakes, and bright yellow glitter. It's like putting falling leaves on your nails. Ishidoro: A stone gray polish with a silver shimmer with a sage green. This has a great grey/green shift depending on lighting. Bro. Not every mani has to be perfect. Sometimes my cuticle work looks like a cry for help, sometimes no matter how many times I’ve made the perfect glass bead, it comes out looking like a stripey pixelated hacky sack. Confession: I have never watched a single episode of The Witcher. I know nothing. That’s the theme for this month’s #EverythingNerdyNailCollab and it’s open to blind interpretation, which is how we arrived here. So, I did some very serious Goodle images research and would like to share my findings: - Giving Targaryen because of long silvery locks (holla if you are into Game of Thrones!) - fire and general peril - triangle symbol that is open ended - moody gunmetal color situation I’m not a nail artist, so my interpretations of themed nail collabs tend to lean minimalist. I do however know how to slap together color blocking, throw some flakies up, and use magnetics to make my life unnecessarily more difficult. Witcher folks, does my blind interpretation mean anything? I’m curious to know your thoughts.
