A single dive into a living, breathing storm of silver 🐟🌊

What looks like a shifting cloud is actually millions of small fish moving as one. When threatened, schooling fish like sardines pack themselves into a dense, swirling sphere known as a bait ball. There is no leader. Each fish simply mirrors its closest neighbours, and the whole mass turns and folds in perfect unison.

The strategy is pure survival. A predator struggling to lock onto any single target in the chaos is far less likely to make a clean strike, so safety is found in overwhelming numbers.

To drift through the middle of one is to be swallowed by the ocean itself, surrounded on every side yet somehow never touched. The fish part around you and seal the gap behind, a wall of life rearranging itself in real time.

Few moments make you feel this small in the best possible way.

First long holiday in a while. We were originally planning for KGL but it got cancelled because some people died.

We went to pahalgam and did the nafran pass instead. We couldn't complete this trek either as the horses couldnt cross the pass but it(trip) was a good break for me.

I met some good people. Thanks to @mani.capsy for taking some of these videos. Thanks to @jollygraphy7 and @karma_tenzing_sherpa for leading the trek. @indiahikes
