Darling dearest ,

I know you’re beautiful and handsome, I know you have been told that you’re worthy, I know you have been told that you deserve love and that “your person” won’t stress you.
May I gently add that, your partner most likely also feels the same about themselves. None of these affirmations give you the go ahead to take your partner for granted and remain entitled to being chosen everyday. Hard truth is that some days will be hard and those are the days where the value you have for your partner is tested. You also have to bring unparalleled love to the table, you have to make your partner know that they are chosen by you everyday. You have to make sacrifices they didn’t ask for. In fact, your partner should be able to remember you inbetween work and be thankful to God that they have you. Hey, you’re not the best thing after akara and pap! There is a better version of you out there and your partner sees that person everyday . This is not me asking you to lose yourself fighting to be seen, this is me telling you to do all you can to keep the gaze on you. Reciprocity is the bedrock of trust. Nothing is ever one sided. So I speak to both parties when I write. Human beings are priceless jewels, if one has decided to entrust their hearts in your hands , it’s time to be the best craftsman ever. I beseech you to love without bounds, I ask that you give your all to beholding that beautiful life, I pray that you forgive without hesitation . Give value without holding back and most importantly pray to God who perfects all human endeavor. In our local parlance “ nothing dey outside” . Choose a king/ Queen and stick to them till the vision becomes a reality .

I met a man from the past today. We had similar experiences in our place of work. And he said something profound “ sometimes when the enemy pursues you , they end up pursuing you into a better place”. I couldn’t agree less.

I believe friendships should mean more. I believe we owe equal if not more loyalty to our friends as we do our partners or family. The level of betrayal in the world today especially amongst friends is alarming. More sad is the lane defense of not owing anyone anything or the claim that your friend was a mugu and so he/she inadvertently made it pertinent that they be taken advantage of. How do you feel when you step outside your bond of personal friendship to gossip and worse more tell lies about someone who has stood by your side for years. The decadence of conscience is alarming. Sometimes I listen to people blatantly defend the various wrongs done to people whom they now chose to call former friends or better still enemies and it marvels me. Years of friendship and various memorable bonds sacrificed on the alter of selfishness , envy , competition and lack or personal shame. If I call you a friend , better know I feel very entitled. I feel entitled to loyalty, I feel entitled to protection, I feel entitled to the truth in my face and not behind me, I feel entitled to your swift reaction to the best of your abilities when my back is on the ground. Your friend is not the one who is available to be used , who is only your friend because you can steal value. How do you hear things about your acclaimed friend , believe and keep same to heart and yet not consult them? How dark can your heart be? How do you call people on phone, laugh and gist all the while holding a grudge which is most likely untrue? How do you manage to say evil about someone who only has good to say about you? Someone who stand up to the world in your defense. What a fool you make of them. People know how you condemn and compete and demean their names and watch them naively defend you. I charge you to repent of this evil. If you can’t be true to a friendship do not get into one. When you discover you no longer like someone step completely away. Don’t wait to steal from them and strike like the serpent you’re . We need to stop hurting people consciously. If you’re wronged, speak up! If there is an issue say it. Finally, you can’t steal what grace gave.

Everyday we are grateful for life, for the opportunity to breathe again. For the free gift of the most important value, life !

Personally I’m thankful for the gift of creativity, I’m thankful for foresight, I’m thankful for the grace to birth and the grace to win.

I’m grateful for peace. I’m settled in the knowledge that my intentions are always pure and harmless. I’m thankful for the strength to admit wrongs and to correct same.
