Thank you for a Top Notch Summer 🖤

Had a blast outside leading social for @topnotchdmv. What started as 4 social media posts a couple years ago turned into a full-blown Juneteenth tradition in the DMV, plus a way to say farewell to summer!

Marketing for events is no joke (I know I spelled photobooth wrong, that’s that post-event sleep deprivation 🤣). Your turnout really comes down to whether people feel enough affinity to show up and support based on what they see online and how that energy translates when they walk in the door.

Content days, BTS of sites, man-on-the-street interviews, vendor segments, and more. Really took the content up a notch this year.

Appreciate y’all for rocking with us and bringing nothing but good vibes. That’s what it’s all about! Work hard play hard + we def did both!

Now entering hibernation season. No more outside for TT lolllll, but you can always find me with a fan in hand and that camera rolling! 🎥

Kicking Off Q2 with some reintroductions of Team CKC.

What a blessing it is to work with some of the most brilliant minds. There is a saying in business to hire people who know more than you. I don’t know everything and that is ok. But I am smart enough to know the best business investment you can make is getting a team.

Our theme for 2026 has been “Cruise Control”. What does it mean to elevate to greater heights and to ensure that every person on your team knows how to play their role effectively? If you know me you know I LOVE themes so this has been very exciting to explore.

Thank you to the greatest team to ever do it. Thank you to everyone who shows a tremendous amount of love for the women who make up Christina Kanu Consulting! My favorite thing besides working with them every day is seeing how they continue to grow professionally and personally. When I think about legacy that is what legacy means to me 💙

Dreams don’t work unless you do.

I had the honor of leading social for the inaugural #HBCUAWAREFEST (still feels surreal saying that).

The kickoff of @awarefestival was a week-long experience centered on tackling the HBCU student loan debt crisis and advancing economic mobility for students through charity events, panel sessions, a benefit concert, casino night and more.

This week was full of learning, connection and conversations that reminded me why this work matters. Grateful for every new face, every familiar one and every moment in between.

All love to the Banaci’s @courtnibanaci x @othellobanaci for bringing me on for such a meaningful project, and to @studentfreedomorg x @livenationurban for trusting my vision and letting me bring it to life. Blessed life fr!

I moved to Charlotte, NC almost 3 years ago. Since I have been here I have noticed a few things:

👀 Curated experiences in the corporate space are few and far between
🤔 The ones I do come across are not for the digital marketing gals and guys
🎨 Charlotte is full of digital marketing GENIUSES...why aren’t we all linking up?

So like any good marketer, I did some market research and deemed that I needed to create the opportunity because unfortunately, this wouldn’t solve itself.

For months, I have been planning (and putting off) this event and I am now forcing myself to put it out there and make it REAL.
