On the auspicious occasion of Gurupoornima, I take immense pleasure in introducing to you all, my dearest Mohan Veena (also known as the Indian Slide Guitar) - an instrument I have kept hidden for many years!

I dedicate this Piku theme video to my first and most important Guru in life, my mother @lifecoachkrupali ! She is the one who led me to this instrument, supported me against all odds when I was super motivated on learning it, and always encouraged me to get the instrument out in the world.
She loves this tune and it is only fitting that I choose this one as the first to play in a video. Thank you for always helping me find my way.

I also thank the other important Guru in my life - my sister @varshikaaaa whose consistency, perseverance and dedication towards her art always inspires me - and pushes me to come back to my art when I stray away.

I express my heartfelt gratitude to all my music teachers over the years, who helped me hone my musical skills - Anuja Ma'am, Pravin Sir, Farah Ma'am, Sumit Sir, Ashley Sir and especially to Manish Sir @manishpingle - the one who taught my very enthusiastic 17 year old self how to play the Indian Slide Guitar (Mohan Veena), forgave me for disappearing from lessons for many many years, and still encourages me when I want to get back to my instrument. The coolest Indian Classical Guru one could ask for!

I feel super blessed! 🧿❤️

Do you remember when the streets of India would fall silent on Sunday mornings?

Before the age of on-demand streaming and infinite scrolling, there was a wooden cabinet with a shutter in our living rooms. It wasn't just an appliance; it was the hearth around which the entire nation gathered.

On #WorldTelevisionDay, I find myself looking back at the golden age of Indian Television. We didn't just watch these shows; we lived them.

They shaped our national consciousness, redefined our values, and gave us a shared language. We grew up in an era where the famous tune became colourful https://lnkd.in/dAaasNuk

#Ramayan and @Mahabharat were not just shows; they were rituals while creating a curfew-like silence across the country

#HumLog and #Buniyaad took us inside the struggles and aspirations of the common man.

#MungeriLalKeHaseen Sapne taught us the bittersweet beauty of dreaming, while #HelloZindagi touched our hearts.

From the satire of #KakajiKahin to the madcap energy of #HumPaanch and the warmth of #DekhBhaiDekh, we learned that laughter is the best medicine for a developing nation.

We waited eagerly for @PrannoyRoy on #TheWorldThisWeek to show us the globe, while @RenukaShahane and @SiddharthKak introduced us to our own culture in #Surabhi.

The intensity of #QuizTime by @Siddharthbasu and later, the dreams fueled by Kaun Banega Crorepati @KBC, showed us that knowledge could change destiny.

Not to forget Tara, by @VintaNanda @navneet.nishan ,redefined the modern Indian woman with #Chitrahaar, #Rangoli and Award winning films & #discoveryofindia

I stand in awe of these giants. But today is also a moment of quiet pride for me. I am humbled to have contributed a verse to this ballad of impactful television. I had the distinct honor of being part of the core team for "Satyamev Jayate".

It was television with a conscience, aimed at sparking difficult conversations and driving social change.Being behind the lens for those episodes was not just a job; it was a service to the medium that raised me but it was also a program and my travel to across our magical countries humbled me, healed me as a human being, as an art and a craftsman.
