Some photos from Edinburgh!
I reviewed 30 shows for @broadwaybabycom which was an absolute honour, and I started to get a bit obsessive about review writing as a craft and took lots of photos and screenshots of really thoughtful and well-worded reviews that I came across
And I fell in love with the city of Edinburgh all over again, I mean COME ON. It’s gorgeous. Especially all the levels and higgledy piggledy windingness and also cycle paths and greenery
And I also fell in love with the Edinburgh Fringe again, which is a thing I think I needed to happen to me. And with theatre and comedy and humanity and with pure nonsense. I’m so fed and fulfilled and inspired and nourished by everything I saw up there

This is the dream team brought together by @manishruparel_ for the Clown Olympics which was honestly probably my highlight of the Fringe. So much joy and collaborative silliness. Feat @sumitcomic @thesquidraj @taranghardikar @vibhinnaramdev

Yum!

Massive thistle. So Scottish. So massive

I came up here to get special glasses to see the eclipse but they ran out, so I went to John Lewis and bought a colander. Was in a show though at the height of the eclipse and when I came out there wasn’t really anything to see through a colander or otherwise I think. Returned the colander. I’m not traditionally good at returning things so I’m proud of myself

Look

Bobby!

Pretty

I took time out from the Fringe a few times including walking along the Water of Leith to ‘Modern One’, the modern art gallery. I like this sort of thing

I like this sort of thing

This actually brought me to tears. A massive baby. Look at her. I wanted to hold her and couldn’t. Detail. Scale. Baby.

I also took the bus to lovely South Queensferry to meet some friends, one of whom is 5(?). That was fun

This is me and @taranghardikar having been on a noble and successful Quest to find chai at midnight

Castle. Night time. I’d walk back home via Rose Street and I’d like that a lot. Also this is probably at a time when the tattoo was making glorious and heart rending noises

Cowgate tugs at my heart, and every time I’m in Edinburgh I wish I’d spent more time there. It’s partly because

Moments from practice ! At Grounds for Practice

For everyone who has walked up those three flights of stairs and entered this little room — thank you.

For bringing your bodies, your practices, your questions, your unfinished ideas, your nervousness, your generosity, your sweat, your curiosity.

For teaching here, rehearsing here, performing here, sitting in circles, watching work, giving feedback, taking chances, trying something for the first time.

Offstage is a young space. We are still figuring out how to keep it alive, how to make it sustainable, and how to let it become what the community around it needs.

Every time the room fills with people moving, making, listening, witnessing or simply spending time together, we remember why we wanted a space like this in the first place.

A room for practice.
A room for process.
A room where things don't have to be finished to have value.

Thank you for keeping this little room alive with us.

Happy September people
May this be an Arts month !
And a movement month too 💚💫❤️‍🔥🔥💌🧠🫀🤼
