Employee Takeover: Final Day in Guatemala 🇬🇹

After an unforgettable week in Antigua, the Stone Creek crew packed their bags and made the journey back to Guatemala City — hearts (and suitcases) full. ☕️✨

From early mornings on the farm to exploring vibrant markets, learning the art of cupping, carving jade, and witnessing the care behind every coffee cherry, this trip has been nothing short of inspiring.

Experiences like this remind us that coffee is so much more than what’s in the cup — it’s people, partnership, culture, and connection.

Thank you to our incredible hosts at San Miguel Coffee for the hospitality, knowledge, and memories we’ll carry home with us. 💛

Until next time, Guatemala.

Employee Takeover: Day 6 in Guatemala 🇬🇹
On the Farm, Pt. 2

By Day 6, you start to see differently.

The slope of the land.
The rhythm of harvest.
The precision behind every step after the cherry is picked.

The deeper we go, the more respect we gain for the craft and the partnership behind it.

Still learning. Still listening.

Employee Takeover: Day 5 in Guatemala 🇬🇹

After two days of enjoying the company of San Miguel Coffee, the Stone Creek crew geared up for their final full day in Antigua. ☕️

They explored local shops and discovered the history and beauty of Guatemalan jade — a prized and durable jadeite — and even got hands-on in a workshop, carving their own pendants. Our team’s curiosity and creativity shone bright as they learned a new skill and made unforgettable memories on their last day. ✨ #StoneCreekCoffee #NeverStopLearning #EmployeeTrip #Guatemala

Employee Takeover: Day 4 in Guatemala 🇬🇹

The Stone Creek crew spent their second day on the farm diving deeper into the coffee journey. They explored the cupping lab, tasting coffees from different regions across Guatemala, and then visited the mill to see what happens after the cherries are picked. Along the way, they discovered just how many hands and how much care go into every cup of coffee we enjoy each morning.

Our team has loved every moment with San Miguel Coffees and is so grateful for this long-standing direct partnership.

Bring on Day 5! ☕✨ #stonecreekcoffee #neverstoplearning #cafeculture #guatemala

Employee Takeover: Day 3 in Guatemala 🇬🇹

The Stone Creek crew spent their first full day on the farm with their hosts at San Miguel Coffee — and the excitement was high.

They learned what it takes to grow exceptional coffee, explored the plants up close, and even picked coffee cherries by hand. ☕️

The views didn’t disappoint either: a clear look at Agua, Fuego erupting (about every 10 minutes), and a tornado forming over Acatenango. 🌋

The team is happy, inspired, and learning a ton.

Day 4 coming tomorrow… stay tuned! ✨ #stonecreekcoffee #neverstoplearning #guatemala #employeetrip

Employee Takeover: Day 2 in Antigua 🇬🇹

After a well-earned night’s rest, the Stone Creek crew was ready to dive into their second day in Guatemala. The highlight of the day? A visit to the vibrant Mercado de Artesanías.

They picked up souvenirs, practiced their Spanish, and soaked in the beauty of Antigua’s culture. Stick around to see their full Mercado haul — and keep an eye out for Day 3!👀✨ #Stonecreekcoffee #Neverstoplearning #guatemala #coffee #antigua

Employee Takeover: Antigua, Guatemala 🇬🇹

After 5 years full-time (or 7 years part-time), Stone Creek Coffee employees earn the incredible opportunity to travel to Antigua, Guatemala — visiting the farm where we source some of our beans and immersing themselves in Guatemalan culture.

Day 1 started bright and early with a 5 a.m. airport arrival and, most importantly… COFFEE. After a quick layover in Dallas and a long bus ride, the crew officially made it to Antigua. They caught a beautiful Easter Week procession on the way to enjoy traditional local food and drinks — the perfect ending to an unforgettable first day.

Stay tuned for Day 2 adventures!☕️✨ #stonecreekcoffee #guatamala #coffee

The Cortado is a barista favorite for a reason. Quick. Balanced. Intentional.

That simple ratio lets you truly enjoy the espresso. Nothing overpowering, nothing hidden. Just a small cup that fits naturally into the rhythm of the cafe.

Where small moments gather and turn into something shared,
Downer Cafe is where community lives.
