Maker Spotlight: MANTA Lures 🇨🇦➡️🇲🇽 Prop Spotlight 30mm mock muzzle brake @alphatozetaindustries Sometimes the best lure designs come from someone who looks at what everyone else is doing and decides to do it differently. Originally from Canada and now living in Mexico, the maker behind MANTA Lures has been building full-time for the last 2–3 years. No mentor and no blueprint—just a desire to create trolling lures that were more unique and personal than what he was seeing on the market. Even the MANTA name has a story. Before moving to Mexico, he was fishing a local spot known in English as “The Window” when a good-sized manta ray cruised right in front of him. Years later, that encounter became the name behind the brand. His designs are just as unconventional. Some lure shapes start with guava wood, while others literally come from his “screwups”—pieces that didn’t turn out as planned, get reshaped, and ultimately become something completely different. No mass-production story here. Just a fisherman building what he wanted to fish. 🎣 MANTA Lures 🇨🇦 Canadian roots | 🇲🇽 Built in Mexico #MantaLures #TrollingLures #OffshoreFishing #BlueMarlin #TrollHighlightLure

Great day with Derek @mantalures trying his lures, it was a day full of action with sails, Marlin and tuna ! He gave us a bunch of lures to try in Barra de Navidad waters including “El Jefe” his favorite lure, “El jefe” made instant impact the next day with a 180 lbs Blue Marlin. We can’t wait to have the smaller version “El chalán” 😂😂 for dorado season !! Thanks Derek, hope to fish soon with you again ! If you are a lure maker and you want to try your lures prototypes on the Tex-Mex we are more welcome to try it in our waters, We love to try new techniques and lures !! #teamtexmex #mantalures #barradenavidad #jalisco #Mexico #marlin #tuna #luremaker #Eljefe #deepseafishing #Mexicofishing
