This collection aims to take you through Gwenbns recollections: the ones of living in a secluded seaside community. Through the collection you get to know the different blurred personalities intertwined with Gwenn's life and memories, unsure whether all has already happend or is soon to be.

This collection is part of a project inspired by Craig Green.

Look 1: Post-funeral Look.

The first part of the collection is focused on the "funeral suits", so overall tailored and dark. The broad shoulders and cinched waist challenge our notion of femininity and masculinity, as Margiela has done. This silhouette correlates to the historic reference of the 1830s.
As this is the fourth look of the lineup, the garment is becoming a bit lighter and through the under shirt looser.

,,Night sky with exit wounds"

AMFI Fashion Design Year 2 (Studio) showcases a collection inspired by Maison Margiela, including 2 looks Fall/Winter 26/27.

The collection focuses on the duality between fear and comfort.
"Fear and comfort are intertwined. One challenges the other soothes, yet both shape us. Comfort alone keeps us stagnant, while facing fear fosters growth. The shadow within isn´t an enemy but part of us. By understanding it, we gain true
strength and wholeness."

The initial idea came from Louise Bourgeois "Maman" statue that kicked off idea around the duality between fear and comfort.
Other than Bourgeois, Man Ray and Werner Herzog were also great sources of inspiration for either the silhouette or the character/muse development.

The collection follows the live of Bruno (the muse). He is an idealist with a tragic ending, having to go from a funeral to living a busy life and trying to perform throughout it.
The funeral suits are characterised by being tailored and mostly dark.
The dad suits is a day to day garment showing an oversized silhouette reminding of a child wearing the father's suit.
Last but not least, there are the performance suits characterised by being worn out with a lot of fraying .

TRAPPED IN THE BUBBLE - designed by the crazy talented @magda.skrabacz 🌐🤍

A STATE OF UNCERTAINTY AND MISTRUST. TIED ARMS SYMBOLIZE BEING TRAPPED AND RESTRICTED BY BOTH EXTERNAL FORCES AND OWN MIND. WHAT APPEARS AS A SIMPLE SOLUTION —A TRANSPARENT SKIRT OFFERING FREEDOM— IS FAR MORE COMPLEX. IT REPRESENTS THE STRUGGLE AGAINST SOCIAL EXPECTATIONS AND THE INNER BATTLE WITH OWN LIMITATIONS.

THE BUBBLE HAS A DOUBLE MEANING. ON ONE HAND, IT REFERS TO THE SHAPE OF THE CRINOLINE, WITH THE ROUNDED FORM. ON THE OTHER HAND, IT SYMBOLIZES BEING IN YOUR “OWN BUBBLE”—A CONCEPT WE HEAR REALLY OFTEN NOWADAYS. IT IS A STATE WHERE A PERSON BECOMES SO ABSORBED IN PERSONAL PROBLEMS AND INSECURITIES THAT THEY LOSE SIGHT OF THE REAL WORLD AROUND THEM,FORGETTING THAT LIFE OUTSIDE CONTINUES AND SOCIETY MOVES ON.

Step by step trying to overcome some of my insecurities. For years I had a problem with my body and my smile. Hated the way they looked on photos and irl, however I am trying to love those parts of me again. I am thankful for my body, since it keeps me alive and my real smile that reflects true joy. I am also thankful for my friends, who are helping me with this self healing process ♥️✨ (sorry for my blues)
