LIFT HEAVIER. NOT JUST LONGER. Still avoiding heavier weights because you're scared of getting bulky? Its probably the most common line we hear when people apply for our programming. Yet you'll happily spend 45 minutes on the treadmill trying to burn as many calories as possible? Let's clear something up.... Lifting heavier weights won't suddenly make you huge. Building significant muscle takes time, consistency, progressive overload and the right nutrition. Cardio burns calories. Strength training builds the body you're working towards. Here's what a lot of people overlook... When you're trying to lose weight, the goal shouldn't just be to see a smaller number on the scales. It should be to lose body fat while maintaining as much lean muscle as possible. And THAT'S where strength training becomes incredibly valuable. ✅ Preserves muscle during fat loss. ✅ Improves body composition. ✅ Builds strength and functional capacity. ✅ Supports metabolic health. ✅ Helps you become stronger, fitter and more capable. Does that mean cardio is pointless? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Cardio is fantastic for your heart, endurance and overall health. It can also be incredibly effective for supporting fat loss. But here's the thing... You don't need to choose between being strong and being fit. You can be BOTH. Stop chasing the highest calorie burn on your watch. Stop being afraid to increase the weight. Stop assuming that sweating more means you're achieving more. Start training with PURPOSE. Because the goal isn't just to weigh less. It's to build a stronger, healthier, more capable body that serves you for LIFE. Be honest... have you ever avoided lifting heavier because you were worried about getting bulky? Contact us for programming. Limited spots remain. #ScareyFit #StrengthTraining #BodyComposition #FitnessEducation #OnlineCoaching

POSTED ABOVE: MOVEMENT STANDARDS FOR RX TEAMS OF 4 We’re breaking down the movement standards to make sure everyone knows exactly what’s required on competition day! For all other divisions please read below 👇 RX TEAMS OF 2: I haven’t covered this division separately, as the movement standards are the same as RX Teams of 4, the only difference is the team format, with 2 athletes are working You Go, I Go (YGIG) format. INTERMEDIATE TEAMS OF 4 & TEAMS OF 2: The movement standards are the same across both divisions as the videos above EXCEPT, with the only difference being the Hanging Knee Raises (HKR) instead of (TTB) standard and jump or step over the wall how ever you like instead of (2 Foot Jump) standard. ➡️HKR - Teams of 4 Intermediate * 2 athletes working in synchro. * Both athletes hang from the bar with arms and legs fully extended * Both knees must rise above the hips.
* Both athletes must return to the hanging position above before the next rep. ➡️HKR - Teams of 2 Intermediate * You Go, I Go (YGIG) format. * Athletes alternate reps, with each rep meeting the required movement standard above ➡️Wall Facing Burpees Teams of 4 Intermediate * 2 athletes working in synchro * Athletes may jump or step over the wall whichever works best for you * Same chest and thigh + over the wall standards as the video above * In the demonstration video, a barbell has been used in place of the wall. * On competition day, there will be an actual wall to get over, set at the same height as the barbell shown in the video. ➡️Wall Facing Burpees Teams of 2 Intermediate * You Go, I Go (YGIG) format. * Athletes alternate reps, with each rep meeting the required movement standard above 🎥 Watch the video, familiarise yourself with the standards, and make sure you’re ready to go! The 24th of October is your last chance to purchase tickets! Don’t miss out on being part of the action. Click the link in the BIO to secure your tickets before they’re gone! 👊 If you have any questions, drop them below 👇

Your body doesn’t know the difference between a stressful Monday and a brutal workout. Training is stress. Work is stress. Poor sleep is stress. Under-eating is stress. Kids, deadlines, life admin… yep, stress too. And while stress isn’t inherently bad (we actually NEED training stress to adapt and get fitter), the magic happens when we can recover from it. So if you’ve slept terribly, work is chaos and you’re running on caffeine and good intentions… adding another savage HIIT session might not be what your body needs that day. And before we blame cardio... Cardio isn’t the enemy. Cortisol isn’t the enemy. Walking, Zone 2, running, conditioning AND strength training can all have a place in a well-balanced program. The question is: What dose can you recover from right now? Some weeks we push. Some weeks we maintain. Some weeks we pull back. None of those weeks are wasted. Stop training for the perfectly rested, perfectly fed, stress-free version of yourself that rarely exists. Train for the life you’re actually living. 🖤 Save this one for your next chaotic week — and send it to the friend who thinks every workout needs to leave them on the floor. #trainforlife #scareyfit #hypegym #cardioisnottheenemy

What a beautiful bunch of people who turned up this Sunday Run Day to support Mia's Mission ♡ Today we all met at the Bellerive quay to run 🏃‍♂️ and walk 🚶‍♀️ We highlighted our beautiful community members, the Lister family, who are raising awareness about epilepsy over the month of October by walking 100km for Epilepsy Tasmania. The Lister family battle with the reality of epilepsy as our gorgeous little Mia lives with the condition. She is an incredibly brave young lady and we are very proud to stand by her and support her mission. Thank you all for joining us today for somethibg bigger than a run ♡ See you all next week! #runclub

If I lost all my fitness tomorrow and had to start again from ZERO… I wouldn’t do more. I’d do the basics — and I’d do them consistently. I wouldn’t slash my calories. I wouldn’t train 7 days a week. I wouldn’t sign myself up for some brutal challenge. And I definitely wouldn’t expect my entire life to revolve around getting fit. I’d lift weights. I’d build my cardio. I’d walk more. I’d eat enough to fuel my body. I’d prioritise sleep and recovery. And I’d give it TIME. Because the biggest mistake I see people make when they decide to “get fit” is trying to change absolutely everything overnight. The best program isn’t the hardest one. It’s the one you can still see yourself doing when the initial motivation wears off. You don’t need to be perfect. You need a plan, progression and consistency. 📌 SAVE this for the next time you feel like you need to start over. And if you ARE starting from zero and have no idea where to begin, comment “ZERO” below or send us a DM. #ScareyFit #OnlineCoaching #FitnessCoach #StrengthTraining #FitnessJourney
