🎶 #BossaNova #JazzMusic #MusicaInstrumental #AntonioCarlosJobim #Drums

What an AMAZING time playing some Paul Simon music at Off the Grid in Foster City! 🎹🎸🥁 Man, I absolutely LOVE playing this kind of music! The grooves, the feel, the pocket, the musicality — it doesn’t get much better than this! 🙌 One of my biggest drumming inspirations of ALL TIME is the legendary Steve Gadd! 🥁🔥 His playing with Paul Simon is absolutely incredible. The way he approaches a groove, his creativity, his dynamics, and the way he makes every single note count is something I’ve admired my entire life! Every time I play Paul Simon’s music, I just want to channel that Steve Gadd feel! It’s not about playing a million notes — it’s about making every groove FEEL AMAZING! 🎶 And of course, I brought out one of my FAVORITE drum kits — my beautiful MAPEX SATURN! ❤️🔥 🥁 24-inch Bass Drum — BIG, DEEP, POWERFUL, and full of that incredible Saturn tone! 🥁 12-inch Rack Tom — Beautiful attack, warmth, and projection! 🥁 16-inch Floor Tom — That deep, thunderous low end I absolutely LOVE! I’m seriously SUCH a huge Mapex Saturn fan! The tone, the response, the warmth, the power — these drums are absolutely AMAZING! I could play Mapex Saturn drums for the rest of my life and be happy! 😂❤️ Honestly, I WANT MORE MAPEX SATURN KITS! MAPEX SATURN ALL THE WAY! 🥁🔥 And let’s talk about my SABIAN CYMBALS! ✨ I absolutely LOVE playing my Sabian HHX and HH cymbals! They’re so musical, warm, expressive, and incredibly versatile! Two of my biggest inspirations when it comes to groove and cymbal sounds are David Garibaldi and Dave Weckl! Their musicality and incredible feel have influenced my playing so much over the years! #MapexDrums #DrummersOfInstagram #Groove #bayareadrummer #bayareamusicians
