Presenting; the official Future Forest 2025 Aftermovie 💚

Every year, I know there’s a lot of anticipation for the Future Forest aftermovie, and every year, I do my best to create something that feels bigger than just a recap.

To me, this video is a time capsule. It’s something people who were there can come back to and relive the magic, even for just a moment. And for those who have never been, I hope it gives them a glimpse into the beauty, energy, creativity, and spirit that makes this festival so special.

The media team always pulls through in such an incredible way, capturing moments that are full of life, emotion, colour, music, movement, and connection. By the end of the festival, I’m left with over 40 hours of raw footage. Then begins the process of turning all of those moments into one captivating story.

This project is a massive creative puzzle. There are so many beautiful shots, so many artists, DJs, performers, attendees, and little moments that deserve to be seen. When I sit down to edit, the possibilities feel endless. I’m constantly thinking about how to honour the experience, how to keep people engaged from beginning to end, and how to create something that feels even stronger than the year before.

I’m always competing with myself creatively. Trying to always improve, and make a video that rivals the last, but with that comes pressure. A lot of late nights, long timelines, creative blocks, and the weight of wanting to do justice to everyone who helped make the festival what it was.

My production company and being a father is my full-time job, so while I’m building this film, I’m also creating for other clients and balancing everything else that comes with being a father of a toddler. It takes a lot of focus, patience, brain power, and heart.

But then comes that final moment, when I hit export, watch it all the way through, and feel the emotion of it come together. That’s when it really hits me.

We don’t just make these videos for promotional material.
We make them to preserve a feeling.
A memory.
A moment in time.
A time capsule you can open anytime and be brought back to the magic of the forest.

Presenting; the official Future Forest 2024 After Movie produced by @st3mm3r of @downtoearthproduction 🌿

“After countless hours of editing, I’m proud to finally share this year’s Future Forest after-movie. This one took a lot of heart, time, and patience, I poured everything into telling this story right. It is Future Forest’s 10th year anniversary after all!

It was an honour working alongside the other talented videographers who helped bring the magic of Future Forest to life. They truly helped capture the energy, beauty, and spirit.

I’ve been creating content for this festival since 2018, and every time I’m reminded why I love it so much. This community, this experience, is something special. Much love to everyone who makes this festival what it is. Hope this video can re-immerse you back to the forest, until next time!” - Michael Stemm
