The biggest congratulations to the Thoreson family on GRAND CHAMPION HEIFER at the Iowa State Fair. 🏆🎉

Dignity x Plum Creek Annie Lu 9271

The Thoreson Family. Neighbors, friends and humble hustlers is how we think of their family. They absolutely are some of the best people in the entire world. It has been so fun to see Reece and Simon grow into kind, respectful, hard-working men that kill it in the showring. We are very thankful for their friendship and continuous help. And for being the absolute best with Sloan, Brindle and Boston.

To add to the feelings of watching Simon get the handshake is that this heifer is a Plum Creek Annie Lu 4472 granddaughter. Back in 2015, Kennedy showed Annie Lu 4472 (Josie) at the Iowa State Fair and was 3rd Overall. That summer a good friend, Leo Kruse, helped in the show barn. I think it’s safe to say, Josie was always pretty special to Leo. Fast forward a few years, while Leo was working at Plum Creek Angus (breeders and co-owners of 4472), he and his family got the opportunity to buy his their own 4472 daughter — Plum Creek Annie Lu 9271. We always thought that cow was pretty good but she is determined to make her mark early, just like 4472 has done. Congratulations to Leo and his dad Terry on raising this one. What a full circle moment that brought a few of us to tears.

Raised by: Leo and Terry Kruse
