WE ARE ALL ON OUR OWN JOURNEY… And some of us simply haven’t had the tools or impetus to truly understand just how much of our lives are affected by how we treat and take care of our bodies. Really. We don’t think we’re our bodies… but we are! When we identify with our bodies, instead of just our minds, our bodies speak to us. Attuning to your body can reveal insights that many practitioners and voice teachers simply wouldn’t be able to fully grasp. And for me, this has not been theoretical. Since switching to back sleeping, my blood pressure has dropped by more than 10 points in both my systolic and diastolic pressure — a dramatic change. That is huge. And yet no one talks about this. No one tells singers that the way you sleep, the way your neck is supported, and the way your body is aligned through the night can profoundly affect your voice, your breath, your tension, and even your blood pressure. Imagine that! #maplemagic #vocalcoach #lifecoach #voiceteacher #sleep

My heart is so full tonight. I’m in Boston at @emersoncolonial watching both of my voice students @jose_contreras_official & @_hawakamara lead the Broadway National Tour of Hadestown as Orpheus and Eurydice… and I truly had to be here for this — FINALLY! To witness their artistry, their growth, their courage on this stage — it’s overwhelming in the most beautiful way. I know the work. The breakthroughs. The faith it took to get here. This is why I teach!! So immensely proud. So deeply grateful. What a freakin’ moment. 🥰 #hadestown #hadestownmusical #maplemagic #broadway #musical
