Passchendaele Award of Excellence

The Award of Excellence is not just about results in the arena, but about the kind of rider — and person — someone chooses to be every single day.

It recognizes a rider who shows up consistently, takes pride in their training, and approaches even the most technical work with focus and determination. It also honours someone who understands that true excellence includes sportsmanship: supporting others, encouraging teammates, and contributing positively to the barn environment.

Most importantly, this award celebrates outstanding horsemanship — the quiet, daily commitment to the care, well-being, and genuine love of their mount.

This year’s recipient has embodied all of that and more. Through hard work, kindness, maturity, and a strong partnership with her pony, she has gone above and beyond in every aspect of her riding. Her success in the competition arena is matched by her character outside of it, and that balance is something to be truly proud of.

It is my great pleasure to present the Highbury Dressage Perpetual Passchendaele Award of Excellence to Rosalie Richards. Congratulations, Rosie — this is very well deserved.
