Man oh man!

It’s been a busy old few weeks. Between music, work and organising a NiNE8 party I have been grafting away on an installation for @thebombfactoryartfoundation exhibition on Collectives in their Marylebone gallery.

When asked to contribute I wanted to shed light on not just NiNE8 but the collectives of older generations that mentored and facilitated us.

MAP, who’s venue and printing expertise have helped NiNE8 create and record music, and make beautiful merch over the years.

DBC, the first black owned radio station in Europe founded in Ladbroke Grove, who showed the importance of an ecosystem and catering culturally to all ages.

And Gaz’s Rockin Blues, who without me working there in 2016 I would not even know MAP and DBC today. Gaz’s night shows the need to sustain small venues, and consistently putting a night on for more than your own monetary gain, but for everyone to know that there is a space for them on that given day, at that given time, year round.

It takes a village to raise a child - I met NiNE8 in 2016 along with Gaz, Chris of MAP and Lepke of DBC, may Lepke rest in peace. Without their influence and encouragement my approach to creating and life more broadly would be unrecognisable.

Thank you to Pallas at Bomb Factory for all the support, very grateful for the space in which to give thanks to all four collectives and what they’ve brought to my life 💚

Exhibition is open until 13th June, Wed-Sat 12-6pm ⭐️

P.S thank you to my family in this post who helped me complete this, you prove that it truly does take a village and I couldn’t have done it without you xxx
