Long share...Crazy week between a bridal dress fitting w/ my daughter, my middle son's 21st Bday, my eldest being worshipped my our kitties, my love being the most amazingly supportive & patient man supporting me so I can enjoy these moments, getting the house ready so I can be as comfortable as possible & spending time w/ my squishy grandbaby....
& I made Whoopie Pies b/c I needed emotional support sweets.lol
My emotions are abundant in all directions. As I prep for the most difficult recuperation of my life, I feel like I'm trying to fit everything in beforehand. Tomorrow morning, my ortho team will be fusing my spine from L4-S1 to relieve the pressure of my nerve roots & spinal cord. I'm simultaneously terrified & optimistic. I've hidden pain & mobility limitations for years so I could keep working until I couldn't anymore. I loved working. I miss feeling purposeful, independent, creative & able to contribute/provide. Although I know this isn't the last one, it's the hardest.
I've never doubted my resilience, but I'm struggling. Please keep my family in your thoughts as they take care of me b/c I am NOT used to being taken care of & they deserve love & support while they deal w/ my hyperindependence.💗

This Mother's Day has shifted into something different for me. The universe gifted me another mother a couple of months before I turned 12. An AMAZING mother. She saved. She supported me when I struggled & was difficult to parent. She taught me the value of going all in. She taught me the importance of family & what safety feels like. She taught me the value of hard work & independence. She taught me how to find the beauty in everything when my world seemed so ugly. This woman taught me how to be brave when I hid in fearful pieces. This woman gave me so much to pass on to my own children, including her name!
I couldn't be more proud of my own children for who they've become as young adults.
I've been able to offer them the invaluable skills my mother taught me. Resilience.
Perseverance.
Creativity.
& being okay with taking different paths.
Motherhood shifts. It's still overwhelming at times, but the love, anxiety, worry & joy for their successes never fade. I've even been lucking enough to add another beautiful human being to my life as well. My boyfriend's daughter may not have grown under my heart, but she definitely grew in it.
My sons will become uncles in November b/c my daughter will become a mother. My mother will become a great grandmother. It's a shift of motherhood for my whole family.
Happy Mother's Day!

It's official! We're becoming grandparents! Whaaaaaat!?!
My intelligent, driven & stunning daughter & her boyfriend are going to become parents this coming mid-November!
I'm going to make sure my daughter has everything I didn't to make sure her experience is made of love. I'm so proud of her for braving this new adventure. 💓
