Autonomous targets for live-fire training

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

Getting to shoot @marathontargets after dark might be one of my favorite parts of our Sept @wppr_usa event. Movers in the day time are fun… movers after dark are next level!

Also check out how clean that white phos PVS27 is… beautiful image here with no IR illumination. Rifle is the @geissele 6.5cm bolt gun in an @mdttac21 DRT chassis with the @nightforce_optics NX6 up top.

Marathon Targets is a massive value add to Kinetic Comps sniper team matches, bringing autonomous robotic targets into scenario-driven training creating complex engagements that cause shooters to think, move, communicate, and adapt in real time.

This is where live-fire training is headed.

Know a shooter, instructor, venue, or agency that needs to see what's possible? Send them this reel.

Better yet, tag someone who only shoots static targets!

There’s a reason this match is called Kinetic Comps—and @marathontargets is a big part of it.

For the 2nd year in a row, Marathon Targets has stepped up as the Title Sponsor of Kinetic Comps—and they’re a huge reason this match actually lives up to its name.

The teams are KINETIC.
The stages are KINETIC.
And the targets? KINETIC.

Across multiple stages, competitors engaged Marathon Targets from as close as 25 all the way out to 925 meters, with robotic targetry providing immediate, realistic feedback on every engagement.

The team at Marathon Targets are absolute experts in robotic targetry, and just as importantly, they’re stand-up guys who have been an absolute pleasure to work with.
We genuinely couldn’t build this match the way we do without them.

Two years. One incredible partnership. And a whole lot of targets that don’t stand still. 🤝🇺🇸

Huge shout out to our competitors and those that came to drag knuckles and ring steel.

Day 1 is In the books and we’re ready to see what day 2 has in store. Ruck up, run your bolts and get out there! You got this ladies and gentleman.

We collectively could not be more proud of everyone involved. Most notably our incredible competitors, sponsors, RO’s!

Had a chance to try out the mover function in the @vortexoptics ACE on some @marathontargets after last weekends WPPR event… here’s a quick look at the process to utilize the mover function and the accuracy of the data.

Who else has had a chance to play with the mover function in the ace and what was your experience?

We recently opened up a few more team slots for our match at Camp Ripley.

We ended up with a larger than expected RO staff, which means we can occupy two of Ripley’s massive ranges simultaneously, giving us more room for the large, dynamic and complex stages we want to build.

Marathon Targets is onboard as title sponsor and bringing 12 fully autonomous robotic targets. Unlike conventional movers, these things navigate autonomously, react and change direction; which opens up some pretty interesting possibilities for movement, target detection, communication and engagements where the solution doesn’t stay put.

Camp Ripley, MN | October 23–25

Only a handful of newly-added team slots are available. Registration link in bio.
