You might've seen the video on @scottishnewssn of oor Gian talking about the ABC and how much Glasgow, specifically Glasgow city centre - specificqlly Sauchiehall street - miss it. You might also have seen the galaxy brain commenters on who just started commenting other venues that still exist in Glasgow. Needless to say these people spectacularly missed the point Gian was trying to make. And seeing as we have a handful songs (by no means all the songs) on our upcoming album about a sense of loss in Glasgow, I thought I'd take a minute to clear up exactly the point we've tried to make.

I know it's not really the done thing to be like "THIS SONG IS ABOUT [THING]". Once a song is release it isn't yours anymore. But I'll make an exception because this is something we feel particularly strong about. So at the risk of being called a "chopped unc" in the comments by the young'uns, or some guy called Craigybhoy1872 commenting that Glasgow used to be way worse cause when he was young he got in a fight one time, I'd like to talk about the city centre of our Dear Green Place.

Side note. You also might have seen that Reform tadger Thomas Kerr walking about Glasgow city centre filming people with a different skin colour to his and harassing them. If you're hoping to read that sort of pish, you won't find it here and never will. The city centre is a shit hole but these "no go zones" don't exist. Racist dog whistle for racist dogs.

Photo 1: The ABC. Burnt down in 2018, but this photo was taken just a few months ago. I was in our manager's venue, The Priory, the night the ABC and the Mackintosh building burnt down (for the second time in 4 years in the case of the GSA building.) A friend I was with who went to GSA watched on as his university went up in flames. There were a couple of "Save The Priory" gigs that summer to try and keep the doors open after the significant loss of revenue, which in hindsight, was incredibly futile.
