dean blunt, one of the most influential artist to modern music

dean is one of those artists that have stayed quieter and have been more mysterious, but his influence is something we see everywhere today, from artists like fakemink and edward skeletrix to even previously with artists in a$ap rocky

he’s had such an influence to the point where supreme even printed a new box photo tee with him on it for their collection this year

you’ve likely heard songs such as ‘100’ and ‘9’ from albums in ‘black metal’ and ‘zushi’ respectively that have gone viral on tiktok. those are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to dean’s discography

the muted visuals, contrasted vocals with liminal soundscapes all of it contributes to an aesthetic and feeling dean captures so uniquely in his work. and even to this day, with his collaborations with elias ronnenfelt and more, his digital footprint remains elusive

whether it’s the cloud rap era of the late 2010s or artists you’re listening to now, chance is that dean has had a hand in making some of those soundscapes pushed further and forward today

one of the best to do it. I wanted to cover him with true care for his work. shoutout the one and only

are you a fan of dean blunt? do you carry his influences in your own work if you’’re a creative? favorite piece of work by him?

lmk below family; love y’all <3
