A powerful monologue presented by @tamykabullen from @survivancecollective about colorism, audism and racism for SURVIVANCE: monologues. Colorism means prejudice or discrimination against individuals with a dark skin tone, typically among people of the same ethnic or racial group.

We are the stolen labour living on a stolen land. The name of Black Deaf Canadian women collective, SURVIVANCE, comes from Indigenous which roughly translate into, "survive". But the word is not so simple because we are all on a journey of our own. It's both beautiful and brutal. But still... we survive not only to live but also to thrive. New collective name: @survivancecollective

Wildseed Black Arts Fellowship changing my life! I CANT BELIEVE it's be over a year. The multitude of lessons and deepenings are lifelong. BUT I ALSO DONT WANT IT TO END! The joy, safety, creation, belonging, grounding, elevation, family, it is one of a kind. It's wild how sharp my authenticity radar is since being with these fellows at Wildseed. I'm out in the world in different spaces instantly feeling AND RECOGNIZING when environments don't click because I finally understand just how safe and authentic, smooth and groovy it CAN be. I have learned so much from all these fellows and amazing guest artists. Follow them! And Wildseed. The fellowship is just 1 way the centre is impacting lives. Reposted from @wildseedcentre And we’re off! Meeting and sharing space with these incredible artists has been wonderful this week. Here’s to more Black creative magic!
