Sorting through my archives and stumbled across these images of @marckell_
He was assisting me on a photoshoot with Alex and a photographed these test shots before we got started. As I'm typing this, I remember we used the roof at Asia's place at the time. Things were so different back then. This was 2022, early on in my friendship with Marckell. He was always there for me. I can't help but to think of all he accomplished in a short amount of time while also being sad he isn't able to do more. I miss him and everyday I live with the regret that we weren't as close when he passed. Both busy and consumed with life and our careers. Just before Christmas we texted briefly and it hurts that we never got the chance to hang out again. Anyways... I hope you're resting well.

I'm extremely heartbroken to be typing this. My friend really is gone. Many moments we spent in the old apartment in SE editing and talking about life. The gigs we went on together and the support you've shown me. It's all running through my mind. You told me about when you rededicated your life to Christ and gave me some insight I didn't even know I needed. It's like the mentee became the mentor. In the short time I knew Marckell, he became wise beyond his years. I've seen him thrive into a young man and talented photographer. It pains me that he was on his way to a gig when this tragic accident happened. I regret the moments I became too busy to even hold a text conversation. I'm so sorry Marckell. You will be missed.

“The perfect kind of friendship is that of good men who resemble one another in virtue. For they both alike wish well to one another as good men, and it is their essential character to be good men.

And those who wish well to their friends for the friends’ sake are friends in the truest sense; for they have these sentiments towards each other as being what they are, and not in an accidental way: their friendship, therefore, lasts as long as their virtue, and that is a lasting thing.”

Marckell, you’ve taught me to be vulnerable, you’ve taught me to be a better brother, and lastly, you’ve taught me to smile. Your joys were my joys, your pain was my pain, and your sorrows were my sorrows. I love you dearly, rest heavenly my friend.
