Baby, @thecharlesreeseexperience answered the HELL out of this question! During our conversation with GRAMMY-nominated poet @marcmarcel , he explained why you can’t take anything off Xone without changing the whole experience.

Every poem. Every voice. Every beat. Every moment belongs. Together, they tell a story of freedom, healing, and finding sanctuary — in the music and in ourselves.

We poured ourselves into this album, and Charles put WORDS to why it all matters!!

In the end, this is about community. It’s not about winning. ❤️

I’m so deeply grateful, from the bottom of my heart, for this beautiful Recording Academy community. For all the incredible artists I’ve connected with, the stories you’ve shared, and the music that has moved me in ways I can hardly put into words.

Artists are the lifeblood of this world. I truly believe art has the power to heal, connect us, and make this world a better place. We need more of it, and we need each other.

I honestly get emotional thinking about all the beautiful people I’ve met and the music I’ve discovered this season. So many of you have touched my heart, and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of this community.

Whatever happens, this experience has already given me so much.

Sending you all so much love and gratitude. Every single day. ❤️🙏🏽

BEST SPOKEN WORD POETRY ALBUM
Xone Vol. 1 — Malachi Rivers with The Charles Reese Experience

@thecharlesreeseexperience and I sat down with Grammy Nominated Poet @marcmarcel on his podcast to discuss the concept of Xone Vol.1

House music and its clubs gave so many of us a SANCTUARY. A safe place to dance, breathe, love, and be ourselves. For those who felt judged, ostracized, or unseen, stepping onto that dance floor meant finally feeling FREE.

“We were each other’s security, from society’s insecurity.”

I wanted to create an album that celebrated that freedom. The people, the music, the spaces that welcomed us, and the community we found in each other.

Xone Vol. 1 is my love letter to that feeling—spoken word poetry and house music coming together to honor the places where we could let go and belong.

Everybody deserves somewhere they can be FREE.
