Nearly a week on from @futurescapeevent 2026, and what a brilliant couple of days! Lots of walking, lots of talking, catching up with familiar faces and making plenty of new connections! Once again, it was a real pleasure to be part of the programme. On day one, I hosted the 'Level Up: Taking Your Business to the Next Stage' panel. A big thank you to Karen, Marc, Lee and Paul Jones for sharing their experiences and insights. On day two, I took to the stage to share my own thoughts on 'Build a Better Business, Not Just a Bigger One'. A subject I'm passionate about and one that sits at the heart of Steady Consulting. For me, events like FutureScape are all about the people, the conversations and the opportunity to step away from the day-to-day to think a little differently. A huge thank you to the FutureScape team and everyone who stopped for a chat. I've come away tired, inspired and looking forward to doing more! Here's to building better businesses, not just bigger ones. #futurescape2026 #landscaping #landscapingindustry #businessgrowth #steadyconsulting

Put brilliantly by @marcmurray85 from @murraylandscapes. Going the extra mile and expecting nothing in return will serve you more than you know as it compounds over time. A referral for a good job is completely different from a referral of a job that has word of mouth that you went above and beyond ⭐️👌🏼

A great evening at the Pro Landscaper Business Awards. We didn’t take home an award this time but being shortlisted is a reflection of the standards, consistency and effort across the whole team. We’re proud of the work that got us here and will continue to push forward. Congratulations to all the winners. @prolandscaper

When you get into business, often your best friends and strongest in your network are the ones you paid to get into a room with. That might seem sad to someone who’s not in the game. But if you want to surround yourself with the best you need to pay your way.

This is the story of Marc Murray, founder of Murray Landscapes based in Motherwell, Scotland. From £5 grass cuts for family at just 14 years old, to building a £750,000 per year landscaping business organically without spending a single pound on paid advertising. Marc’s journey is the definition of long-term thinking and craftsmanship. What started as cutting grass for neighbours slowly evolved into a business that was voted the UK’s Best Landscaping Company in 2024, built entirely on reputation, brand, and exceptional service. Through a relentless focus on culture, personal development, and brand positioning, Marc has become one of the most respected authorities in the landscaping space. His expertise and leadership led to him being selected to speak at FutureScape, where he shared his insights on building winning company culture, something he is a huge advocate and champion of within Murray Landscapes. Marc has invested over £100,000 into personal development, much of it through education with Daniel Priestley, sharpening his understanding of brand, value, and how to position a trade business at the top of the market. The result is an oversubscription of organic leads so strong that Marc was forced to start saying no and really think about the direction he wanted to take the business. Now firmly on the path to seven figures, Marc is gunning for the next level of growth, but only once the right systems are in place. He is an extremely savvy businessman who understands that aggressive growth is not always the answer, and that sustainable, well-structured scaling wins long term. In this episode, expect to learn how building a powerful brand allows you to charge higher prices, escape the race to the bottom, do less work for the same money, and gain far more peace of mind. Marc’s growth has been slower than many by design, with a deep focus on sustainability rather than shortcuts. This episode is a literal masterclass for trade and home improvement business owners who want to build a respected brand, grow sustainably, and create a business that works for them, not the other way around. Built a brand so strong he’s oversubscribed, turning away leads every week and cherry picking the projects he WANTS to work on WITHOUT paid advertising 👏 Great to have @marcmurray85 from @murraylandscapes in the content studio for ToolBox Talks episode yesterday. A true authority in his space with multiple, multiple awards won. Super interesting guy who truly understands what it takes to position a business head and shoulders above the rest in every single area. Unsurprsingly, self development and heavy investment into it has been at the core of everything he’s done. Buzzing to get this LIVE🔴 #ToolboxTalks #Podcast #Trades #HomeImprovement
