Ten years ago today, I traveled to Honduras for the first time. Not everyone can say they have had a moment in their lives where they realize a very important part of their purpose, but that trip was full of such moments.

Learning to translate Spanish and bridge the gap between people has become one of my deepest passions and I learned it first on this trip. I also made some of the dearest friends of my life, so dear that I would begin to consider Honduras a family reunion each year. I’ve been eight times, with hundreds of different people. I’ve worked harder than I thought possible and played harder too. I’ve read books to children and stood by as doctors pulled teeth. I’ve had the privilege to meet so many amazing people from all over the world. I’ve followed, I’ve led a team, and I’ve grown as a woman because of my time there. I feel like my twenties are marked by my trips. Each year I would feel the pull to move there but God never opened the door. I see now I’m supposed to be here, but my heart aches for Honduras. It’s been four years since I last went and I miss it every day. I dream of taking my husband and children one day and I know I will.

Today I reminisce and find myself incredibly thankful for so many wonderful memories. I would not be who I am today without Honduras. Enjoy my walk down memory lane. So many more pictures than I could post. ❤️❤️
