Well that was a fun night of laughing my butt off! Thank you @rejectedjokes and friends for two hours of bliss and for turning my childhood cartoon characters into hired assassins. That's not going to leave the memory any time soon.

Thanks @marcreppin for the birthday present you forgot was a birthday present 😂

@marcreppin and I were invited to his work colleague's family norwuz celebration, the Persian New Year. It was perhaps the most welcoming party I have ever attended.
I learned a lot, too, including the haft-sin table display that features seven symbolic items starting with the letter "s" (in Persian).

I also spoke to a grade 3 read-a-holic. I am adding to my to-be-read list!

Delicious food, amazing people, cheerful vibe.

Happy norwuz/Mubarak nowruz!

A fantastic day in Niagara-on-the-Lake to see Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the Human Heart. As someone who has watched, read and listened to a great deal of #sherlockholmes, I can say that both @atkins_damien's performance as Holmes and his script were stellar.

The Niagara Apothecary Museum is really neat and the whole town is beautiful. It's been a very long time since I was last there, but I'll be back again much sooner.

"When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." - Sherlock Holmes.

It seems absolutely impossible and improbable, but it must be the truth as I saw it with my own eyes -- The Other Side is now part of the Arthur Conan Doyle Collection at the Toronto Reference Library!!!

This is a dream for me! I wrote much of the novel just outside the collection, sitting with Aino Anto at our computers and sketchbooks and, well, dreaming.

a huge thank you to my husband, Marc Reppin, who, when we went to visit the collection a couple of years ago, asked, "How does a book get in the collection?" Uhhhh...

So we asked Jessie Amaolo, services specialist with the collection. I told her about The Other Side, she ordered it for review and later emailed to say, yes, it qualifies! And now it is there and I am so happy!

Marc and I stopped in last night and took A LOT of pictures. I'm posting today, the anniversary of ACD's death in 1930 (which is totally coincidental, though ACD may consider it more of a psychic thing).

SO HAPPY!

On tonight's walk...
In all our years living in Greektown, this is the first time we've ever run into/seen a Greek Easter procession.

Granted Easter isn't my holiday, but I'm pretty sure the Easter Bunny isn't supposed to deliver candy canes.
