🇫🇮 FINLAND: BLIND SPOT (UA below👇) Sometimes we are blinded by our comfortable life and trust in other people. Sometimes we are ashamed of our little secrets and desires and hide them within. These films explore emotional restraint, historical silence, unprocessed trauma, and the ethics of not interfering in metaphorical, absurd and comical ways across the film genres. Let’s push the button and see what happens! Curator: Joni Männistö, artistic director of Turku Animated Film Festival. The program features: ▫️Good Intentions by Anna Mantzaris (@annamantzaris) ▫️My Dad by Marcus Armitage (@marcusanimation) ▫️Bobby Yeah by Robert Morgan (@robert__morgan) ▫️Nun or Never! by Heta Jäälinoja (happy person without instagram) ▫️Body Memory by Ülo Pikkov (@ylopikkov) ▫️The Big Snit by Richard Condie (another happy person without instagram) ▫️Enough by Anna Mantzaris (@annamantzaris) The screenings will take place on September 30th-October 3rd at UNIT.City in Kyiv. 🎫 Get your pass — link in bio. #linoleum2026

This month, we were delighted to welcome @studioaka to our London campus as part of our 'An Evening With...' series of student-exclusive talks. Creative Director and Founder, Philip Hunt and Animation Director, Marcus Armitage came in to show our student audience how a whole range of client projects in varied animation styles are brought to life at the studio behind award-winning films and shows such as 'Lost and Found' and 'Hey Duggee'. This was followed by a Q&A, so students could ask their follow up questions about projects and the animation industry. A huge thank you to @philipalso and @marcusanimation for a fascinating talk! To learn more about what they covered, head to our #LinkinBio 🏃‍♀️

Balancing atmosphere and clarity. In our initial discussions, Directors Jon and Bonni referenced War Photographer Robert Capa, and his images of the D-Day landings. We sought to capture those frantic, dangerous moments that put you in a soldier’s shoes, through blurred movement and sharp figures in the charcoal animation. This visual inspiration offers a glimpse into what’s happening inside the protagonist’s minds - a reflection of their trauma. - Marcus Armitage @marcusanimation , Animation Director (Tall Grass & Red Wings Sequences - In Waves and War) @inwavesandwar on @netflix @actualfilmsdocs Have you seen Robert Capa’s work? Can you see how it inspired these sequences? #charcoalanimation #studioaka #inwavesandwar #processvideo #bts
