Caturday!!! And our first family weekend. We had a wonderful time meeting some of Kailey’s friends and sorority sisters, met up with a few of my sorority sisters, and ended the night with Marcus’s fraternity brother and his family at their restaurant. Good friends, good fun and the Cats came away with a win!!! 💕

We finished our trip in Athens. We stayed in Plaka, the neighborhood of the Gods, nestled right under the Acropolis. We visited the Parthenon and Acropolis, walked all over Athens and enjoyed wine and a spectacular view just steps from our VRBO. It was a perfect way to end our trip.

Kusadasi, Turkey was my favorite place we visited. The country itself was beautiful, the ruins were really impressive, and the people were very nice. We visited a rug college, complete with rug throwing and we got to see how the rugs are hand made. We even got to see and be in a fashion show at the leather factory and topped it off with a genuine Turkish lunch. I definitely want to go back to Turkey.

We cruised for 7 nights on one of the largest boats on the sea and packed a lot of fun in. The boat itself was really pretty and the crew was top notch and very kind. It was hard to come home and have to cook for ourselves.

Mykonos was really beautiful....for about two hours and then all the cruise boats came in and it was waaaay too packed to really enjoy any of it. Unfortunately it was a super windy day, which made the beaches not a viable option either. So we headed back to the cruise boat early.

Crete, or rather the water along the coast of Crete, was one of the most beautiful places we visited. We had a speedboat tour for the day that took us all along the coast and dropped us off at a beachy area that was also filled with water in the middle (see the pic). We went snorkeling in some of the coves. They even provided charcuterie boards and wine as our snacks. I think this was the kid's favorite day by far and we didn't ruin it for them by climbing up to one of the ruins we could see from the shore. haha!

Spent the day in Pompeii playing the real "Floor’s Lava", took lots of pics, but mostly of the actual site and not people, so didn't want to bore anyone. The kids were exhausted after all the walking, but Marcus said Pompei was his favorite place we stopped.

Then we got on our cruise boat and did all the cruise boat things. Swimming, drinking, dancing, karaoke, games, naps, shows, shopping, etc. The Sun Princess was a beautiful boat and sailing in the Mediterranean was smooth!

Finally getting around to posting our European Vacation pics. It is so hard to pare it down to just 15 pics from each place, especially when we had over 3,000 between the 8 of us! But, here they are....we started in Rome, Italy. Tons of walking, delicious foods and spritzes, so much cool architecture and fantastic churches. It was fun to see it from an adult perspective instead of how I saw it in High School and to share it with my family.

Dropping her off, leaving her without a roommate and an unfinished room during rush week was sooo hard. And let me tell you, this rush stuff is not for the weak (even for someone who has gone through it). But hearing her stories throughout the week and seeing her excitement today on bid day made my momma heart so happy. I can’t wait to see what this year brings for her. She is going to have an amazing time, and even though I may have a backseat view of it, I can’t wait!!! I think she finally found her people and now she will find her way!!
