How would you run the Fumble in your rig?

Today we’re checking out the Fumble from JHS Pedals. This unique boost is a faithful reproduction of the Dumble BBC-1, a rare FET preamp that was loaned (along with the A Box Later) to JHS to replicate by @johnmayer.

It was then mistakenly released as the clean side of the NOTADÜMBLË V1, and after the mistake was discovered, and the v1 discontinued, the BBC-1 circuit sees New Light (see what I did there?) with the Fumble release.

The Fumble is a simple, no nonsense boost that can be used in a variety of ways in your rig. It excels as a light boost/always on sweetener, but also sounds great slamming the front end of your amp or other drive pedals.

The Fumble is compact and features a simple control layout. Input & Output controls. The output control works as you’d expect, but the input knob works a little differently. It controls the input gain and cuts the bass frequencies together. At its max setting, there is no bass cut, and as you turn it counter clockwise you attenuate the input gain and reduce the bottom end. This works really well to tighten up your drive tones, and is definitely worth tweaking and experimenting with to find the sounds that work best in your setup.

I can’t believe it’s already been a week since Fret Fest.
What started as a boutique music expo became so much more than that. A space filled with insanely talented guitar and pedal builders, musicians, creators, and people who genuinely love the community around music.
Massive credit to Marcus and Simon for bringing something so special to Norwich and being completely humbled by the incredible turnout and support. The atmosphere, the talent, the connections… honestly unreal.
This wasn’t just an expo, it was a community.
If this year was anything to go by, next year is going to be bigger, better… and more bougie!
