First solo wake surf session: Unlocked 🔓🌊

Fall 7 times, get up 8! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

If you had told me a few months ago that I’d be out here freely carving waves, I would have laughed. I was terrified of the sea. But three messy, unofficial tries with @marcuskeeofficial changed everything. He didn’t just teach me how to stand on a board; he convinced me to even get in the water.

Today, with a proper lesson, something clicked. For the first time, I wasn’t scared of falling. I was just enjoying the ride. I didn’t want to stop. (If this sport wasn’t so expensive, I’d be out here every single day 😂).

It made me realize: The quality of the leader determines the quality of the experience.

A great coach doesn’t just give instructions; they give you the courage to try, the space to fail, and the inspiration to keep going. Whether it’s a sport or a career, getting into something with the right leader makes all the difference.

Here’s to facing fears and finding new passions.

One challenge wraps. The next one takes off. 🌊

Our first Nautique Challenge 2026 was all about trying something new — from taking your first ride, to landing a new trick, or simply finding your own way to have fun on the wave.

A big thank you to @marcuskeeofficial and @matheo.surfs for taking on the challenge, and a special shout-out to @bigchicken_sk8 for the inspiration.

And of course, thank you to @jethriel and @wakevolution , together with their riders, for helping us bring the challenge to life from the very beginning.

Marcus and Matheo — we’ll see you on the new 2026 Nautique G23. 🚤

And now, the challenge continues…

Together with @hkcwa and @wakesurflovers , we’re taking things higher with the new AIR CONTEST.

Ready for your next challenge?
Check out our latest collab post for full details — entries are open until 25 September.

Today, let’s talk about wakesurfing 🌊

First of all, thank you to @theboardshopsg_official for letting me try the @phase5wakesurfers Swell 53.

What is wakesurfing?
Wakesurfing is riding a wave generated behind a boat. The goal is to get up with the rope, then let go and surf the endless wave behind the boat. Since we don’t have natural surf waves in Singapore, this is the closest thing we have!

What can you do while wakesurfing?
There are so many things you can do behind the boat, such as carving, jumping, board slides, and even surfing on your knees.

What’s so fun about wakesurfing?
For me, it’s all about learning new skills and having fun throughout the process. Every session is different, and sometimes it’s simply about spending time with friends on the boat.

What is wakesurfing to me?
Wakesurfing is a sport that I truly love. It allows me to be creative and express my own style of riding. When I’m on the wave, I can disconnect from everything else and just focus on the moment 😁

Thank you to everyone who has supported me and to all the people I’ve met along the way 🫶🏼

**~ Wakesurf Kickflip Challenge ~**

Shoutout to @rriley for giving me this challenge! 🤙

This is the closest I’ve ever been to landing it. Still chasing that first clean wakesurf kickflip, but we’re getting closer every session. 🔥

I never knew kayak surfing existed until a couple of months ago when I was in Byron Bay for a whale shark kayaking trip.

This time, we decided to team up with the PA Passion Wave guys, who have been actively promoting kayaking in Singapore, to try something completely different. Instead of pulling wakesurfers behind our boat, we towed kayakers to see if they could catch the wake!

It definitely wasn’t as easy as it looked! Huge kudos to all the kayakers who gave it their best, even though they had no prior experience riding waves behind a wake boat. We were genuinely impressed by how close they came to catching the wave just by paddling. 💪👏

Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to try it myself because the rain cut our session short. Looks like we’ll have to plan another round soon!

A big shoutout to @marcuskeeofficial for helping out while I was driving, and to @pa.passionwave, especially Kang Wen, for organizing the kayakers.

And if I’m not mistaken, Singapore’s first Everest summiteer also became the first Singaporean to experience surfing a kayak behind a wake boat! What an awesome milestone! 🔥

Thank you, everyone, for making this such a fun and memorable session! 🙌
