Last year, I challenged myself to write more. I love being in a writer’s room and offering suggestions, but I don’t take a lot of time to write my own stories. That said, Trinkets just kinda came together. I sat down and wrote something, happy I took time to practice, and that was the end of it. Until I sent it to @shotbyajstarzak and @samanthaktan and plans to make it a reality started to form.

Samantha helped me refine the characters, the story beats, and made something that felt very grounded. I was honored that she wanted to direct the project and I’ll be forever grateful. We found @alyssaleanneso for our Laura, an incredible scene partner and friend. I loved how many questions she asked about the characters and their past, and her performance shows a great care for the words. @maredvm offered to handle hair and makeup, and ended up wearing multiple hats to get this filmed. And of course, AJ who worked his ass off to set up shots and do his thing behind the camera.

I’m happy we made this. It’s simple, but I think it’s relatable. I hope you like it too.
