A selection of the books I received from January to June, 2026 : per post or in person directly from artist or publisher with their thoughtful mind. I am sharing a few books here in this post to give a glimpse into each project. Mareike Jacobi @mareike.jacobi A random coloring book, 2026 Mareike Jacobi’s A Random Colouring Book explores the relationship between chance, imagination, and participation. The work invites each person to become a co-creator. The readers roll a dice and colour the shapes according to the rules shown on the left page. Each roll creates a new possibility, making every completed page a unique outcome shaped by both chance and personal interpretation. Fernanda Aránguiz @feraranguiz «La escritura pende del lenguaje, el cual es una manifestación en la que el sujeto flota…» Minigolf Deportivo, 2026 @minigolfdeportivo Edition of 100 On the occasion of its 10 anniversary “Writing hangs on language, which is a manifestation in which the subject floats…” by Fernanda Aránguiz 〰️ is an exercise about writing and reading, an exploration of the printed page, its usual function as a medium for content, and the text as form and convention. By cutting up the words and letters, form emerges as an invitation to explore the book/fanzine visually, while semantics recedes into the background. This experience highlights the operational dimension of reading: deciphering forms to achieve understanding. In turn, the exercise establishes a reciprocal relationship with its title: a phrase by sociologist and writer David Álvarez, which, when unfolded and divided across the pages, creates tension between form, language, and meaning. Jo Frenken @jo.frenken Palimpsest, 2026 Edition of 25 Around 1980, I used earth from soil drillings in South Limburg to make ten paintings. They form the basis of this book. The originals no longer exist. Years later, I rediscovered damaged negatives and restored them. The work follows a fixed protocol in which repetition produces variation. Presented as near-identical pairs, the images reveal difference through comparison, reflecting Deleuze’s idea that repetition produces difference rather than sameness. Text: Jo Fre

#Throwback @bookbaufestival 2025 Our first book fair of the year 2025 was in Karlsruhe thanks to the invitation by @susanne.kriemann Three amazing days of exploring books and publishers. I especially loved the project organized by @byobfair , which encouraged visitors to engage with various publishing projects to cover the wall installation. Some publishers I had only known through their books, so it was wonderful to meet the people behind them in person. Let’s stay in touch for the possible collaboration in the future! Lastly, many thanks @shanmei_yao for the drawing during the roundtable talk.
