Year 2016. Very late to the party but here’s my entry. 🤣 2016 was a banner year for me. I went from theater actor/teacher-director/managing editor/racketeer to full-time conservatory student. I flew to London in 2016 without any long-term plans except to take my Masters in Musical Theatre. I graduated in 2018, did a few shows when I got home and life took a very different turn. I got diagnosed with an autoimmune thyroid disorder, got married, got pregnant during the pandemic and the rest, as they say, is history. 2016 seems like a lifetime ago and life looks very different from what I probably had in mind in my 20s. I am bone-tired, perpetually overstimulated, but endlessly grateful. I’d like to believe I am exactly where I need to be. 🥺❤️

Ever since I was a kid, I knew I really wanted something when I would wish it on a broken wishbone. As in yung sa roast chicken. 🍗 I would often ask just for two things but this year I thought maybe I could wish for three.

1. Great health for my two grandmothers who both turned 92 this year.
2. Happiness for my loved ones.
3. And courage to start something new.

2025 wasn't supposed to be anywhere near ~my~ year. I lost things (too many!), heard things, almost got thrown things (😇) but I'm lucky because a lot of people still stood by me! I owe everything to them (and to you ✨)

I didn't think any of this could happen, not least of all because two months ago I had almost nothing. But thanks to a few friends and some intense locking in, Magic Girl is my gift. You showed me what family really means.

A look back at the warm memories we shared in our recent Din Tai Fung banquet, where we celebrated 10 years in the Philippines. 🥟✨ We are truly grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey—guests, friends, our team, and the team who turns every meal into a world-famous feast.
