✨Vampire Season✨

Now, ya girl will read a vampire book in any season, but there is something magical about changing leaves and fangs 🧛‍♂️

Total side note: how cute would the garlic @jellycat be on my vampire shelf 😭

I picked this up probably last year and it spoke to me recently. Soooo I finally picked it up and gave it a go. It was actually surprising that I ended up enjoying it. I started off judging it and assuming it would be the typical tropes and plot but it ended up having some clever twists. There is a second book and of course I have that ready to go as well!

If you love vampires, witches, and games to the death then pick this one up!

Another amazing night at @bnroseville 🍎 This one was something else. And yes, that first picture is me just walking around the bookstore answering questions during the q & a (which was my favorite part)!

My voice is half-gone but it was so worth it because last night was so much fun! Thank you so much @bnroseville @author_alexandria_cameron and everybody who came out to celebrate last night!!

Tomorrow I’ll see everyone at @poppybookssf !!

❤️🖤 Sepsis Awareness Stack🖤❤️

September is Sepsis Awareness Month.

On February 26, 2026, I was brought to the ER in septic shock from an intestinal perforation. The mortality statistics for these two emergencies together were not optimistic. Sepsis is the leading cause of death in U.S. hospitals. Every hour that treatment is delayed increases mortality by almost ten percent (endsepsis.org).

While I survived, my life has been entirely changed. The after affects of surviving severe sepsis can be life long and debilitating.

Navigating life post-sepsis has been confusing and uncertain. I lost a lot of myself, but one thing that remains is my love for reading.

Sepsis can affect anyone. Suspect sepsis, save lives ❤️🖤

You can learn more about Sepsis here:

Buenas noches lectores 💫🌟

✨ AUGUST READING RECAP ✨
August was such a GOOD reading month! I managed to read five books, including a reread. Considering I have a toddler and work full-time this is amazing for me! I also hit my 2026 reading goal of 30 books about half way through the month! For context I haven’t hit my reading goal or read this much since 2021!

My August Reads:
* The Once and Future Queen by Paula Lafferty — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
* The Thorn Queen by Sasha Peyton Smith — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
* The Prince in the Arena novella by Elizabeth Helen — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️
* Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
* Bonded by Thorns by Elizabeth Helen — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (reread)
And yes… I am FINALLY reading the Throne of Glass series for the first time! I have so much to say already, but we’ll save that conversation for another post!

TOP BOOK OF THE MONTH: The Once and Future Queen! 👑✨

This book has completely kicked off a new obsession with the Knights of the Round Table, King Arthur, and especially Queen Guinevere. I am officially desperate to read MORE books about this legend! If you have a recommendation on other retellings, drop it down below! 👇🏻

Before The Once and Future Queen was picked up by @kensingtonbooks , back when it was originally on Kickstarter under the title Le Vie De Guinevere there was a deluxe edition that was released. I’m desperately searching for this book. If anyone has any leads, PLEASE send them my way! 🙏🏻💕

And of course, I had to reread Bonded by Thorns as I get ready for the FINAL Beasts of Briar book coming in October! I am absolutely not emotionally prepared.
Now onto my September TBR, which includes The Revenant Games, Heir of Fire, First-Time Caller, and Shield of Sparrows.

Happy first day of spooky season, let’s get reading! ✨🎃📖
