$ryan, write me a poem, would you? . To celebrate nathy sg tour starting today here’s another new song. It’s called ‘Ryan, Write Me a Poem, Would You?’ . This one was recorded by Jake (@supermilk4u) with additional production & engineering by Jonny Rob at @deptford_sound_studios, Sunderland. JR mixed it and the gaffer @richmandell mastered it. @charliejamison played bass and @jasonwaterf4lls played drums. . The lyrics to this song were a stream of consciousness, at least partly inspired by the time Ryan (@naturalsway) asked me to do a spoken word reading on a @delayohio song. I assumed it would be gentle abstract stuff but the reading turned out to be more dark and violent than I was expecting. Go listen to it (song: drunk dreams, band: delay, album: songs for money). @ry_j_e , @mr._austin and Jesse are three of my fave people and Delay is one of the world’s greatest bands. Miss you all! . Speaking of tour- today is the first day of nathy tour! Sheffield, Oxford, Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle. You know the craic- the link is in my bio. . This new single is on a cassette (CXJ003) along with the other songs I’ve released this year. The only way to get it (for now) is to come to a gig. There’s 30 of them. I’ll fire the ones I don’t sell out of a cannon/put them on Bandcamp when I get home. There’s also an as yet unreleased song on the cassette too. It comes with a download code cause no one listens to cassettes but also no one downloads songs either I don’t think. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ sorry this is now quite a long post. . We’ll also be selling lush RISO tour posters by @north_or_nowt to raise money for @medicalaidpal at the gigs. Hand numbered /40. Okay that’s enough! . Get the date in your diary. On June 13th 2024 the mighty indie rock/post-punk legends @supermilk4u will play their first ever north east gig at the wonderful @poprecs Sunderland, with support from yours truly and the incredible Durham folk punker @gelflingmakes. They have a new album coming out on @specialistsubject in August and we may have heard a sneaky peak and can confirm it’s absolutely brilliant. We might drop a couple of new songs into our set too! Basically, you don’t wanna miss this one. Supermilk are literally one of our fave bands in the whole world and we can’t wait for it. The show has tiered ticket prices so everyone only has to pay what they are able. Tickets at £10, £5 and FREE. If you buy one you’re helping Supermilk on the road and helping pop recs keep the lights on. But if you are skint and can’t afford it, please don’t hesitate to grab a cheap or free ticket.
