DARK ECOLOGY - This image reflects a growing distance between humans and the natural world, where touch is no longer direct but mediated and controlled. the blue glove becomes a quiet symbol of this shift - a barrier that suggests protection, but also separation. Nature is no longer simply encountered; it is handled, studied, contained. as Timothy Morton suggests, we are no longer separate from nature, but entangled within it, shaped by our own interventions.
The butterfly, once a symbol of freedom, is held within something artificial, its movement paused by something not of its world. We are nature, but we no longer recognise ourselves within it. it raises a question of whether, in trying to preserve nature, we have begun to replace it - and whether what we hold onto can ever truly remain
free. Photographer - @rufusdalbyphotography
