Today, I turn 25 years old. I usually don’t do a post for my birthday but since my first quarter of life is ending, I wanted to be vulnerable with you.

Around this time last year, I lost the ability to walk due to a health condition. It was a really hard time and I fell into my mind a lot. Here I am a year later, fully able to move again and I look back at that time with so much gratitude.

I had no choice but to sit with my thoughts which taught me a lot about my self. First, I learned to meet my thoughts with forgiveness and love. When you can do that, you will learn your mind and your thoughts are separate. Fears and anxieties will have less control over you, and even when they feel like they do, use your breath to ground you back.

Second, even though it felt like everything was against me, I met life back with an open heart and mind. When you open your heart to life, it will open it back to you. Staying positive is the trick to a positive life. When you keep your mindset positive, your brain associates everything with a positive outcome, even in the bad situations. Everything in life is neutral until you add the meaning, so make it positive.

Third, be confident in your authentic self without your ego getting in the way. Your ego will eventually create a block in the road later so learn to put it aside. Make friends with your ego and use it as a learning tool. When you are confident and embrace your authentic self, life embraces you back.

Lastly and most importantly, always spread love around and meet people with love. There is so much hate, divide, and distractions and it can be very easy to fall into it. We don’t know what people are going through so be the positive light in the world.

I hope that my experience and lessons may help you in some way. I deeply appreciate all the amazing people I have crossed paths with. I wish you all a year filled with love, happiness, good health, and success. 🫶
