There is something enchanting about this film that doesn’t need to say too much to make you feel.

Conceptually artistic and deeply poetic, TANNOURA creates a world that draws you in and leaves you lingering in its atmosphere.

A film that speaks through feeling, image, and imagination.

Congratulations to the longlisted project in the first Talent Fair competition for Egyptian Graduation Projects!

Project Name: ALEXANDRIA ON FILM
Designer: @emjournal_
University: AAST - Alexandria Branch

'Alexandria on Film, It is where two types of arts combine for a unique user experience. Architecture and film both tell a story and document history, they both influence the viewer for a better city image. The main concept of the project is accessing backstage through layering experience, where people get to see old Alexandria while knowing more about the art that emerged from the city. The journey starts from far away by first seeing that curtain like structure that makes the visitor curious about what is inside (the trailer), the process of going through those curtains to the pixelated form that gives the feeling of moving through film layers. And lastly immersing yourself in film experience and including yourself in a documentary (the Film).'

Stay tuned for the Egyptian Graduation Project 2.0

I have so many mixed feelings about the past 5 years. They were very dialectic, felt everything and it’s opposite. They were full of tears, frustration and moments of absolute desperation yet as they are coming to an end, I can also say they were full of withstanding, proud moments and love. Here is to the happy days, the sad days and all that in between 🤍.
