Let’s recap 2024: a year of reflection. A year to ponder over the injustice happening around the world and the role we can play in bringing forward the truth with good intent and steps in the right direction. It’s been a heavy year but we must always be thankful and stay hopeful so I’m recapping some milestones from the year ❤️
Khuda Hafiz 2024, Thankyou for what you taught us and may we enter 2025 stronger with the lessons learnt! #2024recap #southasianblogger #yycblogger #calgaryblogger #yycmoms #yycmom

EIK KHAAS SAFAR: AN ART JOURNEY THROUGH THE MUSLIM WORLD ~ FEB - MARCH 2024

Let’s embark on a special journey...an art journey through the Muslim world. The Kutubiyya Mosque in Marrakesh (Morroco), Bibi-Khanym Mosque in Samarkand (Uzbekistan), Grand Mosque in Sana’a (Yemen), Rohtas Fort in Jhelum City (Pakistan) and Taj Mahal in Agra (India), are beautiful examples of Muslim architecture and opens doors to glorious periods in Muslim history.

The objective of these classes is for children and adults to develop their muslim identity through knowledge of Muslim history with the medium of art. @mariamjaffri (our amazing art teacher) and I want them to have fun and learn about Muslim history and architecture through geographic and historical references.

Each class will have five sessions of one hour each. Students will paint a unique monument from Muslim history in every class: Kutubiyya Mosque in Morroco, Bibi-Khanym Mosque in Uzbekistan, Grand Mosue in Yemen, Rohtas Fort in Pakistan and Taj Mahal in India. They will build upon painting techniques in each class. We have organized the classes in 4 groups divided by age: 5-7, 8-10, 11-14 and a special class for adults (one session of 2 hours).

In each class the students will create an art piece while gaining insightful knowledge about culture and heritage of the Muslim world. Experience a relaxing environment allowing students to be positively stimulated through these art classes.

The medium of instruction will be English. An art supply list will be provided with the welcome email once you register.

These classes will be done live via Zoom. If you miss a class recordings will be available to watch later.

Register via urdumom.com/maktab (direct link in profile)

It’s more important than ever to develop a strong Muslim identity through knowledge of our history and heritage!

Refund policy: We are happy to provide a full refund if you feel the class is not a fit for your child after the first class.

We are well aware of the financial constraints families are facing these days. If you would like your child to attend but cost is a constraint, please send an email to maktabchalain@gmail.com
