🥎💙 What a day for the books!

The 2026 YWLE Charity Softball Series was one to remember! From the opening ceremonies to the final inning, we couldn’t have asked for a better day filled with incredible people and a whole lot of fun.

Seeing our fellow officers, families, friends and community come together year after year is what makes this event so special. The energy was contagious and the support meant more than we can put into words!

Best of all, we came together for a wonderful cause, raising money in support of Westhab and the important work they do in our community. 💙

A huge thank you to our players, sponsors, vendors and everyone who came out to spend the day with us. And an extra special thank you to our volunteers, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure everything came together. We truly couldn’t do this without you!

We’re so grateful to everyone who continues to make this event such a success. It’s days like these that remind us how lucky we are to be surrounded by such an incredible community.

Here’s to another unforgettable year of softball, giving back and making memories together! 🥎✨

Every week, we have been blessed with some new volunteers which means we can take more off the waitlist.

Because of our amazing support we were able to take 2 new players!

Thank you for always being there! When it hasn’t been our day, our week, our month or maybe even our year - it’s ok! Because we are all there every Saturday to cheer us ALL up! Coaches included!

Thank you everyone for another beautiful and successful Challenger Saturday!

Five years of showing up. Five years of giving back. Five years of helping us GO GOLD. 💛🎗️

We are incredibly grateful to Karen Carlson Lizzo and the National Honor Society at Maria Regina High School for once again organizing a fundraiser in support of our Go Gold initiative.

Your continued commitment means so much to us and, most importantly, helps us bring love, comfort, and support to the children receiving treatment at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital.

Year after year, you continue to remind us what community is all about, people coming together to make a difference for children and families who need to know they are not fighting alone. @mariareginahs

First 2026 Fall Challenger Saturday was perfect!

These are just a few snaps from an amazing, beautiful, and incredibly supportive day. ❤️

One hour. That’s all it takes to make a HUGE difference in an entire community.

And these pictures? They are only a PIECE of what truly happens every Challenger Saturday.

❤️

The amazing hugs.
The high fives.
The smiles.
The encouragement.
The friendships being made.

It’s so much more than an hour of soccer. It’s connection. It’s belonging. It’s community.

And honestly, there is nothing quite like watching our Challengers show up, be seen, be celebrated, and just HAVE FUN.

This is what Challenger Saturday is all about. ❤️⚽️

Thank you to all our volunteers - this is because of you!

Who said robots don’t have personality?
Taking a look back at one of our favorite days from the Spring semester! We had a great time hosting the Girls Who Code club from Maria Regina High School for a robotics workshop in our EECE lab, and these girls completely blew us away.
After an introduction to the Mechog and its input/output features, the girls were challenged to give their robot a completely unique personality. It was up to them to write the block code that translated environmental inputs—from the AI facial recognition camera, ultrasonic distance sensors, and touch sensors—into real-time physical movements and sounds through the built-in speakers to portray their pet’s reactions.
It is safe to say the girls absolutely nailed it! We loved seeing them bring the hardware and software together to create something totally their own.

Today marks the end of our 3rd full year as the Hillcrest Challenger League with our 2026 Spring Baseball Trophy Day! 💙⚾

Can you believe it’s been three years already? What started as a dream has grown into something truly special because of every athlete, family, volunteer, coach, and supporter who believed in our mission.

So… what’s next?

🏈 Next spring, the Hillcrest Challengers will officially launch FLAG FOOTBALL!

We are growing. We are expanding. We are creating even more opportunities for our athletes to learn, compete, build friendships, and shine.

To our volunteers—you are simply the best. Your kindness, patience, and dedication make every season possible.

To our families—thank you for showing up for one another, cheering each other on, and making this league feel like home.

Hillcrest - thank you for your support and helping us create the best community Yonkers has ever seen!

To our Challengers—you are the heart of everything we do. You inspire us every single day.

Coach Kerry and Erin, couldn’t do this without you. You are the best coaches, friends and sisters 💚

Here’s to three incredible years, and to an even brighter future. Hillcrest Challengers is more than a league—it’s a family! 💙💛🏆🏈⚾
