✨A drunken love spell, a little chaos, and sapphic magic? Sign me UP!🧙‍♀️💖

I’m such a sucker for romances that mix a little magic with a whole lot of feelings, and this one sounds like the perfect autumnal read! 🍂 Merryweather’s accidental love spell had me intrigued, but it’s the slow-blooming connections, heartfelt messages, and question of whether love is fate or simply a choice that really got me. Sometimes, the best kind of magic is finding someone who truly sees you.🥹💌

Thank you so much to @mariarigouauthor for giving me the chance to read this sapphic romance! 🌈💕 I’m ready for the witchy vibes, the romantic chaos, and all the feels!

Tell me, bookworms: would you trust a love spell, or leave romance to fate?👀✨

Love Spells: And Other Non-Refundable Magic by Maria Rigou is a cozy sapphic slice-of-life romance novel.

First of all, I love a bisexual baddie who is also an Etsy witch and lesbian who buys a love spell, so this book spoke to me immediately!

Maria Rigou wrote this book about two women, both struggling to find a happily ever after. This, I know, speaks to a lot of us. I loved how Rigou tackled the feelings of inadequacy in ourselves and the fear in being unlovable. This book had fun banter, flirting, and the gay panic of being stupid in front of a pretty girl. Love Spells feels like a romcom we need on the screen. My only issue is it did feel a little long in places. The pacing was off, and by the end we knew the secret-identity reveal was coming, so I was ready for it to get to the point. But despite that, I enjoyed reading Love Spells. It was quick and cozy, and if a slice-of-life romcom with a touch of magic and hot sapphics is your vibe, this book is a must-read.

What to expect:
🕯️Online witch
✨Secret identity
🔮Strangers to lovers
🍂They’re in their 30s
🕯️Sapphic
✨Latinx rep
🔮Online messages

Love Spells: And Other Non-Refundable Magic by @mariarigouauthor

🏃‍♂️ It's spooky season…
👩‍🔬 A book all about witchery, huh?
🏃‍♂️ Nope. I mean, kinda? But nope.
👩‍🔬 Dude, what's that supposed to mean?
🏃‍♂️ Merryweather-
👩‍🔬 (Love that hilarious name!)
🏃‍♂️ Well, I'll let her explain:

“Reasonable people do yoga. Touch grass. Go to therapy. I buy spells on the internet.”

👩‍🔬 So: witchery.
🏃‍♂️ But, is this book actually about
🏃‍♂️ Witches and spells? Not so much.
👩‍🔬 Okay, let me dig in…

👩‍🔬 Oh wow, this one surprised me
👩‍🔬 In the best of ways!
🏃‍♂️ See? It's really about two people,
🏃‍♂️ Merry and Flora
👩‍🔬 Merry goes out drinking with friends
👩‍🔬 And come home convinced she's cursed
🏃‍♂️ Her romantic past is… troubled.
👩‍🔬 Before she can think better of it,
👩‍🔬 She asks an online witch for help
🏃‍♂️ Flora, proprietor of The Third Fairy,
🏃‍♂️ Handles requests like this
👩‍🔬 In her own special way, helping via,
👩‍🔬 Well, her own sort of magic.
🏃‍♂️ Right?

🏃‍♂️ Meanwhile, Flora and Merry
🏃‍♂️ Actually meet in person!
👩‍🔬 Without realizing they've
👩‍🔬 Already communicated online
🏃‍♂️ And now this gets funny
🏃‍♂️ As they get to know each other
👩‍🔬 In two completely separate ways!
🏃‍♂️ Merry, by the way,
🏃‍♂️ Wants her money back
👩‍🔬 She thinks the spell
👩‍🔬 Hooked the wrong person!
🏃‍♂️ Flora isn't convinced that
🏃‍♂️ A simple refund will fix anything
👩‍🔬 And thus the assignments begin
🏃‍♂️ Assignments? Are they back in school?
👩‍🔬 Love school, lol

🏃‍♂️ But this online backchannel
🏃‍♂️ Causes a bit of trouble
👩‍🔬 It's a love triangle,
👩‍🔬 Between only two actual people!
🏃‍♂️ When are they gonna figure it out?!?
👩‍🔬 Eh, the messier the better
🏃‍♂️ Part of the fun, huh?
👩‍🔬 Exactly!

🏃‍♂️ What I loved most about this was
🏃‍♂️ Seeing their thoughts and feelings
👩‍🔬 I loved how they grow together
🏃‍♂️ Their struggles were so relatable
👩‍🔬 They feel like something inevitable
👩‍🔬 And it's wonderful to see
🏃‍♂️ Just… magic.

TL;DR: A beautiful and mixed-up love story; just witchy enough for the season

Books that scream “Autumn” 🍂

I got to visit a local pumpkin patch back home with my siblings and I had a blast!

I don’t usually like crowded places but this was so fun. There was so much to do, not just pumpkin picking but there was a mini farm, corn maze, apple picking and other fun activities!

Pics of the distress I felt in the corn maze will be shared. I’m claustrophobic af and have GAD so this was a recipe for disaster.

Since I’m in the fall mood, I decided to share a couple of fall books on my radar (I’ve read some and others are on my tbr) 🧡

My most recent fall read actually isn’t pictured on here but it was the Big Bad Wolf by Laurie Gilmore which was pretty ok, nothing too special but I was entertained!

Have u guys read any of these? What other books do u think I should have added? Let me know!!

P.S. make sure to stick around, I have a release day review I’m sharing that I’m EXCITED for!! ❤️‍🔥

Flora & Merryweather had me giggling and blushing the entire book! I loved the nods and inspirations from Sleeping Beauty. My absolute favorite was their conversations on Etsy giving the You’ve got Mail vibes!

Thank you @mariarigouauthor for an advanced copy & of course, for actually listening to my crazy idea and bringing it to life! I love you forever!
