Burpee’s long history in the seed industry has helped connect gardeners with plants for generations.

"I count on my family to tell me when there's going to be a hurricane." 🌀

Olivia Davis, 34, lives near Fort Lauderdale, and she doesn't watch the news on TV.

"I'm the type of person where I feel like if I can't directly help or feel like I can make an impact, why absorb the negativity. You know?"

She knows how that sounds. "It's not the healthiest thing to be closed off," she admits. But she's watched what the alternative does to people.

"I know people that they wake up four or five o'clock in the morning and turn the news on, and the cortisol levels are already high at that point, and you're just making it kinda worse."

For Olivia, tuning out wasn't about apathy. It was about capacity.

"Since I've stopped watching the news, just being able to focus on myself, showing up better as myself, does help me help other people around me in a different way. Where if I'm drained all the time from the negativity, I can't show up for the people close to me."

"I wish there was a way to have a little bit more balance... to be a little bit more selfless and figure out how to absorb that information so I can make an impact."

Her bottom line: "I feel like if everyone were to focus more on their own wellness, we can contribute a little bit better. When you're coming from a place where you are not in survival mode, you make decisions that impact the people that are close to you in a better way."

Lately I’ve been reflecting on the threads that have run through my life and work.

At first glance, these experiences seem very different.

Some involved business. Some involved community. Some involved conversations. Some involved service.

But looking back, they all asked the same thing of me: to bring people together, create connection, and help people see new possibilities.

What once felt like separate chapters now feels like one story.

The common threads running through every chapter of my life have been community, connection, and helping people (including myself!) discover what’s possible.

What thread runs through yours?

Sometimes a book moves you so deeply that you need to step inside its world.

That’s what happened to one group of women from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Doylestown @doylestownlutheran

On this episode of Talking in Transit, I ran into them as they traveled together by train into New York City for a book club adventure inspired by the memoir All the Beauty in the World: The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Me by @patrickbringley

The book follows Bringley’s decade working as a guard at the @metmuseum Museum of Art after the cancer diagnosis of his brother, and art became a form of healing.❤️‍🩹

What struck me during this conversation was both their love of books and the emotional pull that connects people to a story and each other.

There is something beautiful about watching people carry literature into real life.

We recently had the distinct honor of attending DelVal’s photo exhibit & media celebration to honor the work of DelVal’s award-winning team. 🏆 🎥

In recent years, DelVal’s student media program, DelVal Full360, has partnered with Doylestown small businesses to bring us quality social media content, while providing students with real life experiences.

For the second consecutive year, DelVal Full360 has won the Sweepstakes Award at the PA Keystone Media Awards, the second highest honor in the state’s largest media competition!

We are honored and grateful for the opportunity to work with these students and be recipients of some amazing social media exposure.

Special thanks and congratulations to Rich @mr.untamedd and Sailor as they leave DelVal as Seniors this year to pursue the next leg of their journeys. 👩‍🎓 👨‍🎓

And to @marionreports who walked through the doors of Le Macaron Doylestown during its infancy and consistently has been a huge support these past five years. 📸 📝
