Why Chosen?
Because thats what discrimination is. To be singled out for no reason other than hate.

This song is for the people that don’t feel safe in their home. For the people that feel like their entire world has been ripped away.

The breathtakingly powerful cover photo was taken by Mario Ramirez @mariosaurus_ on June 9th 2025 in LA.

I asked Mario how he felt that day, how the energy in the air felt, this is what he said:

“It was definitely a tense day, the ICE raids were just starting out, people were angry and wanted to make their voice heard. LAPD did what it does best and escalated the situation by shooting rubber bullets out at the protesters, running some of them over with their horses. Multiple people were injured, i believe someone lost their vision that day because of the rubber bullets and being beat, others were trampled on by the police horses so it was definitely a tense confrontation. I think overall, the city did a great job of keeping their composure, i do think some werent on their best behavior but you cant expect us to be compliant when random people are being snatched up and disappeared. Keep in mind since then we’ve gotten reports that women have been raped, minors abused, many immigrants have died on their watch, so its hard to be civil when the other side doesn’t care. So anger, anger is what I felt.”
